Here for a good time, not a long time, the Popcorn Chicken Slab is made from a platter of six soft dinner rolls filled with Popcorn Chicken, oozing tasty cheese and BBQ sauce. Sounds delicious? We think so too, and the slab is perfect for sharing with your mates, or cheeky tucking into by yourself.

“We’re excited to announce that we’re finally bringing back The Slab to KFC restaurants across the country. After first introducing The Slab in 2020, the response from our fans was huge and we’ve had lots of people demanding its return. So, we’ve listened
to our fans, and it’s now once again available across all our restaurants for everyone to enjoy – either with friends or if you’re game, all to yourself,” said Sally Spriggs, CMO at KFC Australia.

“Like all good things, not even The Slab can last forever, so get in quick because this encore tour won’t last forever,” she continued.

When it was first released, the slab was tested in nine restaurants in the Ballarat area and was originally available as a part of KFC’s online ordering app under the ‘New Products’ section, a pseudo ‘KFC secret menu’ item. The new offering joins the likes of KFC’s previously released Slida Staker, Pop N Twister, and Hot or Not burger – a hall-of-fame-worthy special item. Oh, and let’s not forget about the Fried Chicken Donut Burger, which slipped a seasoned chicken filet between two glazed doughnuts. Duh.

The Popcorn Chicken Slab will be available in KFC restaurants nationwide from Tuesday 4 until Monday 31 October and can also be purchased as a Combo with chips and a drink.

Pricing for the Popcorn Chicken Slab starts from $10.95 for the slab on its own, $14.45 for the slab combo for 1 with chips and a drink, then extends to $16.95 for the Slab combo for 2, and finally, The Slab Feast for $31.95 that includes 6 pieces of original recipe, 6 original tenders, 2 dipping sauces, and two sides. Crikey.
