Stundenglas, which means “hourglass” in German, started out as a simple desire for the company’s founder. Tracey Huston worked for Apple, and in 2012 he was looking to replace his jimmy-rigged gravity bong with something a bit more stylish and effective.
He created the Stundenglass bong solely out of that desire, but a family friend that just happened to know Seth Rogen shared the bong with the actor. Rogen then created and posted a video of himself using the bong and it quickly went viral on different social media outlets. Orders began rolling in and Huston started selling the Stundenglass out of his garage. In 2020, Grenco Sciences invested in Stundenglass and hired Huston, and the rest has been history. Since then, other celebrities have jumped on board, including rapper Wiz Khalifa.
The Stundenglass gravity bong is made of borosilicate glass and aircraft-grade anodized aluminum. The name may not be very creative considering just how much the product looks like an hourglass. But even if that’s the case, plenty of creativity and innovation went into the design. The Stundenglass offers a smooth, flavorful hit without putting your weed in danger of getting wet. What’s more, the Stundenglass makes it a social experience to use this hookah as it fills with enough smoke to share with two people. The bong comes with a 10-year warranty. What’s more, there are plans to make attachments for the Stundenglass, including one that will let you brew tea or coffee. All that aside, you will have to pay a bit more for this bong. It carries a $600 price tag.
