Rossinavi and Pininfarina Set Sail with Super Sport 65

Aurea is coming back in the limelight, this time serving as the inspiration for the second pairing of yacht builder Rossinavi and automotive designer Pininfarina. The Super Sport 65 superyacht puts on display what both companies are best known for.

Pininfarina’s work on high-performance cars heavily influenced the design of the Super Sport 65. The 65.5 meter, all-aluminum yacht has an 11-meter beam and pulls a draft of 2.2 meters, allowing it to easily access shallow waters and remote bays. The lines of the craft bring to mind the cars Pininfarina has worked on. The single line that connects the bow and stern is a reference to the Italian car maker’s Gran Turismo. The main staircases were inspired by the air intakes of supercars. “Pininfarina and Rossinavi speak the same language and share the same passions and values,” states Paolo Pininfarina, the chairman of the Pininfarina Group. “Leveraging on this common background and vision, Pininfarina is in the best position to express its creativity, taking inspiration from our sports cars and translating their sleek and fast lines into the design of the super yacht. The result is innovative, mixing elegance and sportiness.”

The Super Sport 65 is powered by four MTU 16V 2000 M96L 1939kW engines. It has a top speed of 30 knots and cruises at 28 knots with a range of 4,000 nautical miles. The yacht’s six cabins fit 12 guests, with wide open spaces. An additional seven cabins provide space for the captain and crew. “The only limit in the design of the Sports boat is the impact on the general floorplan. For this reason, creating a nice balance between interior architecture and exterior design is always challenging,” explains Frederico Rossi, the COO of Rossinavi. “With Super Sport 65 we have overcome this limit. We enter a new de3sign dimension with the lower deck’s layout to the large areas dedicate to the crew and to the captain’s cockpit and engine room. The elegant and spacious design of the common areas including the main saloon and a larger owner’s cabin at the bow all the way to the salon of the upper deck are the result of this new design direction which culminates in the flying bridge with Pininfarina’s signature super car design.” However you explain it, the truth is that this superyacht perfectly represents both companies’ mastery of their art.
