- OMEGA has announced two new Worldtimer references in the Seamaster Planet Ocean Collection.

- Both models are priced at AUD$24,600.
A globe-trotting watchmaker if there ever was one (which isn’t to mention its forays into space), OMEGA debuted the first Worldtimer in 2017 as part of the Aqua Terra 150M range. A robust timepiece designed to tackle any terrain, the Worldtimer felt like a modern reinterpretation of the classic GMT function, complete with a stunning visual element that paid homage to the Swiss producer’s legacy of adventure.
Released in limited quantities, that initial release inspired OMEGA to make the Worldtimer a permanent addition to the collection and just a few years later, the brand has unveiled arguably its most impressive version. Larger and more durable than ever, the latest iteration of the adventure-ready model arrives complete with ceramic case construction, stunning visuals, and a 45mm design. It joins the Seamaster Planet Ocean collection to sit alongside some truly legendary dive watches, bringing the world to your wrist while tracking multiple time zones at once.

As fans of OMEGA are all too likely to know, the Swiss watch brand doesn’t name its models in vain. That is to say, the new Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer takes its built-in theme quite literally. One glance at the dial face gives you an intriguing view of the world, encapsulated by the laser-ablated globe at its centre. Brought to life over a grade 5 titanium surface and flanked by a 24-hour indication, the topographic illustration delivers a superlative fusion of form and function, all while driving home the motif.
In case the topographic map wasn’t enough, the Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer gets even more literal on the action-packed display. Encircling both the dial and its outer rings are the names of various global destinations, including Sydney, Los Angeles, Denver, and Auckland (to name just a few at random). OMEGA’s home base of Bienne, Switzerland, is located at the GMT+1 position, putting it one hour ahead of Greenwich time.
Like its Planet Ocean brethren, OMEGA’s latest offers an epic water resistance of 60 bar (basically double the industry standard). In addition to the 24-hour indication, the dial features a brushed black ceramic bezel with a laser-ablated and polished diving scale. Put these things together and throw in the automatic Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8938 and you’re looking at a bona fide dive watch that’s ready to go where no previous Worldtimer has gone before. Flip the piece over and you can see the movement in action through a window of sapphire crystal on the caseback.

OMEGA is debuting the Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer in two distinctive styles. One model has a turquoise varnish and features white Super-LumiNova on the markers along with an integrated black rubber strap. The other model has a grey varnish and features an all-new grey Super-LumiNova on the hands and indexes. It likewise has a black structured rubber strap, but this one flaunts a grey underside (whereas the other one has turquoise stitching).
Whether you’re taking to the world outside your door or bringing that world to you, OMEGA is a perennial brother in arms. The watchmaker’s new Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer joins the ranks of too many iconic models to list, each one offering top-notch design and performance across every conceivable activity and environment. This is a brand with its fingers on the pulse of the planet, and its latest release scales that wide-reaching experience down to wearable size. The world awaits, and OMEGA abides. Strap up in style and go.
The new OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer is presented on an integrated strap in black structured rubber with turquoise stitching and a foldover clasp in ceramic and ceramised titanium. Both models are priced at AUD$24,600 and available from OMEGA boutiques and authorised retailers.
