IWC Achieves Landmark Certification

IWC Achieves Landmark Certification

IWC has just announced that it has attained the Chain of Custody certification from the Responsible Jewellery Council. This certification basically stipulates that the gold and platinum used in IWC’s manufacture is fully traceable and has been responsibly sourced, much like Chopard’s responsible sourcing of its gold materials. What this means is more accountability, more ethically sourced materials and a higher overall standard of end-to-end manufacturing.

The Hour Glass Presents “The Persistence of Memory”

The Hour Glass presents its latest digital exhibition, “The Persistence of Memory”. This exhibition will survey the last half-century of artisanal watchmaking, beginning in 1970 closely following the work of Dr. George Daniels and Derek Pratt and moving on to the watchmakers who seem to align their own practices with that of defining work of Daniels and Pratt, including F. P. Journe, Philippe Dufour and Kari Voutilainen, and finally finishing up with Rexhep Rexhepi and Roger Smith. Exciting stuff!

Seiko’s 140th Anniversary Collection

Seiko has unveiled a new collection of limited edition watches just in time for its 140th anniversary. The four models include the Prospex SPB213, the Presage SPB223, the Astron SSH093 and the Seiko 5 Sports SRPG47. Each model features the same blue and silvery-white livery that’s both refreshing and highly contemporary. My favourite model would have to be the Seiko 5 Sports. We love the macho-look of it, especially when compared to the original that does look slightly dainty. The Prospex SPB213 will be priced at $1,895AUD, the Presage SPB223 at $2,150AUD, the Astron SSH093 at $3,295AUD and the Seiko 5 Sports SRPG47 at $550AUD.
