Listen to Episode 1 of Daddies, a new podcast by Man of Many, on Spotify
In 2026, keeping up with work, life, and parenting feels harder than ever. That’s why Man of Many is launching Daddies – a new podcast about life on the other side of having kids, hosted by me, Rob Stott (a gay dad through surrogacy) and my colleague Marcus Hurley (who co-parents with his ex-wife). Even though our journeys through fatherhood are unique in many ways, so many of the experiences are also universal.
Daddies is a podcast for parents, but it’s not just about parenting – it’s about life as a parent. And it’s not just a show for dads. We hope mums, wives and partners will listen too. Because being a good dad isn’t simply about ‘putting food on the table’ or showing strength. It’s about showing up and being a good partner. It’s about leading by example, and trying to raise the next generation of Australian kids to build a better world for themselves and for the future.
So often people don’t talk about the hardships or the difficult topics when it comes to being a good parent – finding balance, building community and trying to hold on to your own identity when so much of your life is now wrapped up in being Dad. Daddies will hopefully break down some of those barriers – and we’re going to have plenty of fun and tell a few crap dad jokes along the way too.
Across season one, we’ll be chatting to some great guests. Already lined up for Season 1 are radio host Matty Acton, who became a grandad at the ripe old age of 38, Purple Wiggle (and new dad), ‘Big Strong’ John Adamo Pearce, and 2016 Rio Olympic Gold Medallist Ellia Green, who transitioned after retiring as one of Australia’s greatest ever women’s rugby players.
The first episode of Season 1 of Daddies is now live, and new episodes will drop every Thursday after that. We hope you’ll come along with us for the ride.
Why We’re Launching ‘Daddies’ Now
At Man of Many, we’ve always loved talking about products, culture and style. But our core mission isn’t just about telling you what to buy, wear and watch. Every day, we want to help men everywhere invest in themselves and their communities. To be their best selves and live their best lives. And that’s needed more than ever right now.
Anyone who’s paying attention knows that things aren’t exactly going great for men right now. Misogyny is on the rise – particularly among young men being influenced by the toxic online manosphere. Every week, we’re bombarded by stories of men of all ages behaving badly. We’re not here to blame men, but we are here to be an antidote to that toxicity, and hopefully to build a community of like-minded dads who just want the best for their kids.
Earlier this year, Man of Many released the Male Confidence Index, Australia’s first national benchmark study designed to understand how confidence is experienced by men today and why. Confidence plays a quiet but significant role in how men navigate their relationships, work, wellbeing, and place in society. It shapes how men respond to pressure, pursue opportunity, and adapt to change, making it a critical social indicator for modern Australia.
Two findings really stood out. One is that as men age and mature, we don’t necessarily feel more confident in ourselves. We call this the mid-life confidence cliff. The world is getting more complicated, as are our lives. We’ve got mortgages and kids and responsibilities, and that can be a lot to handle.
The other finding that stood out was the different parenting styles across the generations, especially when it comes to communication and showing vulnerability. Younger dads, especially millennials, are much more open about their feelings, and that creates a much stronger bond between parents and kids (and partners). Daddies exists to help men bridge that gap, and build a stronger community.
Those two insights combined are the genesis of Daddies. We want Man of Many to be a publisher that helps Aussie men bridge the confidence gap, and invest in themselves and the people around them. We hope you’ll come along with us for the ride.
