Butterboy launching into Broadway

Sydney’s infamously delicious cookie bakery, Butterboy, is opening it’s third store this weekend: bringing its doughy goodness to Broadway Sydney. Now, if you can get down at exactly 3.30pm on Friday 16 or Saturday 17, the first 100 customers to make a purchase will get a free soft serve with any order—delivered by waiters in full-on dining attire.

Butterboy’s main claim to fame is its delicious six-packs of cookies, aforementioned soft serve, cookie dough, and a penchant for limited-run drops of seasonal goods. In fact, its specials change every month, are made in-house, and are specific to each store.

“Broadway gives us a totally different energy—it’s fast, central, and full of people from all over the city,” James Sideris, founder of Butterboy, said. “We wanted the space to reflect that dynamism and feel a little unexpected, while still bringing the warmth and joy people associate with Butterboy.”

Aussie content creators join forces to fund cancer research

For the past two months, Australian content creators have been streaming and fundraising to help research organisation Cure Cancer do exactly what it says on the tin. Split into teams captained by well-known Twitch streamers, the GameOnCancer ‘Superhero Streamers’ drive has raised around AUD$82,000 to fund lifefi-saving cancer research, and the group’s goal is to hit AUD$300,000 by the end of the month—so get in there and give a little.

To date, the organisation has raised over AUD$1,250,000 for helping combat the life-threatening disease.

As an incentive, when donating to participating streamers you can go into the running for a number of prizes; including Oodies, ASUS ROG headsets, keyboards, mice, and microphones. If you’re interested in getting involved, check out the initiative below.

Snag a Free Beer to Celebrate Wrexham A.F.C. ANZ’s Tour

For all of you Wrexham fans out there, the Hollywood-backed football club is coming to Australia and New Zealand this June for some friendlies against Melbourne Victory, Sydney FC, and Wellington Phoenix. The games will be held at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on July 11, and Sydney’s Alliance Stadium on July 15, and New Zealand’s Sky Stadium on July 19.

If you’re not willing to make the trek to the stadium, though, there’s still a good way to enjoy the games: head to York Lane bar in Sydney, the “unofficial home of Wrexham A.F.C. fans in Sydney”, where reciting a fan chant will get you a free, frosty bottle of Wrexham Lager: “Wrexham Lager, Wrexham Lager, feed me till I want no more. Feel me till I want no more!”

If you’re keen on getting a bit of free booze, York Lane bar will be giving the drinks away for free starting Tuesday, 15 June, ending on Saturday 19. Get in there with your best singing voice.

If you’re more interested in going to the games themselves, you can sign up for pre-sale tickets through TEG Sports.
