LEGO is crossing over into a new frontier, with the announcement that it’ll be teaming up with legendary French electronic music duo Daft Punk for an entire partnership spanning sets, sounds and even short films.
Of course, we all immediately recognise the robotic outfits donned by Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. But now, they’ve arrived in true brick-head form, following in the footsteps of other musicians like Olivia Rodrigo, who had a collaboration launch back in August.
The collaboration was announced today (23 October) with a short film that sees LEGO-form Daft Punk traverse through an all-red digital landscape before arriving at a pair of DJ consoles, of course, made of LEGO. While details of everything that’s included in the partnership have yet to be announced, we do know that we will be getting a set based on the duo’s iconic 2007 ALIVE pyramid stage.
What Is In The Daft Punk LEGO Set?
The news that has arrived today (23 October) is that Daft Punk and LEGO have entered into a partnership, so we could see all types of products born from that collaboration.
“What makes this partnership so special is the enduring appeal both brands share,” Julia Goldin, LEGO Group’s Chief Product & Marketing Officer said in a press statement.
“Like the LEGO brand, Daft Punk inspires generations through creativity, innovation and a deep connection with fans. We’re excited to build on these foundations to reimagine the Daft Punk legacy in a fresh and unexpected way, creating something unique that resonates with fans across all ages. This is just the beginning of a bigger journey – a creative collab made for fans ready to lose themselves to play.“
What we do know we’ll be getting is a set based on the iconic pyramid stage Daft Punk used while recording their Alive 2007 tour, where their equally as famous live album of the same name was recorded. The stage debuted at Coachella 2006, before taking on stages around the world.

The best part? This LEGO set was a fan’s idea that’s actually made it to development. Conceived by Luxembourg man Patrick Harboun and his son during COVID lockdown, the idea was submitted to LEGO’s Music to Our Ears challenge in 2020, where it won the Grand Prize and received 10,000 supports on the LEGO Ideas platform.
“This all started as a creative escape during lockdown between my son and I because of our shared love of Daft Punk and LEGO building,” Harboun said in a press statement.
“We never dared imagine it would take off in this way. Watching our passion project become part of an official collaboration is an incredible experience, and it’s a reminder of what makes the LEGO Ideas community so special. That a simple idea, shared by fans, really can become something much bigger.”
The set will now officially go into development, with more information to come next year.
