I haven’t even watched The Bear, and I have no idea who Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto is. However, I still want this jacket from NN.07 because everyone wants it, and that means I want it even though I’ll probably never wear it and end up selling it online for a profit because some bloke liked the chef who wore a white Merz t-shirt. Ahh, now I feel better… FX’s/Disney+ “The Bear” has done nothing but grab fashion headlines since it hit streaming, and now the focus has shifted away from Jeremy Allen White’s RRL and Merz b. Schwanen t-shirt addiction towards something more advanced, this outstanding NN.07 Gael Jacket.
It’s restocked, and that’s a good thing because people have been on their hands and knees (not literally) begging NN.07 to “drop that sh*t” (not literally) for months. Well, here it is, gentleman, and it’s only like 700 bucks in Australia, so there’s no excuse not to cop this time. I’ll even give you permission on behalf of your better half. I have no idea why this jacket is so cool, but it looks pretty sharp.

Maybe it’s the proportions—the size of those pockets, the collar, the boxy fit that isn’t too short, the pattern that’s different across every piece—it’s just (don’t say it) *chef’s kiss*. It’s almost like it’s made to eat in with a nice chunky two-way YKK zipper that lets you spread the bottom and let the belly breathe after you’ve smashed a few too many Oklahoma Smash burgers. Now that I think of it, the antipilling finish is probably greasy and finger-resistant, too.
That pattern I mentioned is Italian yarn-dyed checkered fabric, and it’s all over this jacket. The composition is a little interesting, with the main fabric comprising 74% wool and 26% polyester. Meanwhile, the lining is 100% cotton, so they’ve at least ticked that box. Fit-wise, it has the “fit of classic old-school stadium jackets,” according to the item’s description. Pablo is the model above (188 cm / 6’2) and wears a size M.
You can buy this jacket right now on the brand’s website, linked below. I wouldn’t expect this jacket to last long, and if you can’t make up your mind, it’s best not to check back later. That said, it’s a bit of a gold mine for the brand, so I also wouldn’t be surprised if they made a couple of hundred extra for this restock.
