R.M. Williams Drops a Rugged New Collection ‘For The Fathers’

Iconic Australian bootmaker-turned-fashion label R.M.Williams has unveiled a new collection, crafted For Life’s Journeys. The new instalment is the second iteration of its new seasonal campaign and this time around, R.M.Williams is looking to the Fathers for inspiration. Shot in New South Wales’s Megalong Valley, the lookbook captures the rugged elegance of the new collection against a breathtaking backdrop of rural landscapes and in a fitting nod to the brand’s legacy, it even features an appearance by R.M.Williams’s own head of heritage and heartland, Terry Goodear.

This second iteration of the seasonal collection marks a return to the hardwearing and classic staples at the core of the brand’s ethos, with a laundry list of quality basics, accessories and boots. The concept of stepping through time, and passing down pieces through generations is highlighted throughout the campaign imagery, bolstered by R.M. William’s signature ‘built-to-last’ mentality. It’s a common thread followed through in the materials themselves, with the garments manufactured from natural fibres that the brand claims “echo the connection to natural surroundings.” Further building upon the new seasonal campaign’s assortment of clothes are some versatile pieces like the lace-up Risden Boots, the Melton Jackets and more quality staples.

“R.M.Williams presents ‘For Life’s Journeys’, a series of stories that celebrate the joy of travel and showcase a uniquely Australian spirit of adventure,” the brand wrote. “Against the backdrop of the Megalong Valley in New South Wales, we hit the road in search of connection with the land and with one another. From the unbounded beauty of a journey into the unknown, to the shared memories crafted around the campfire, we find ourselves grounded, inspired and able to fully appreciate the present.”

Being ‘For the Fathers’, the new seasonal drop is also complemented by Fathers Day gifting products, but these aren’t your stock-standard socks and jocks. According to R.M. Williams, the gifts are designed for those “whose footsteps have trod a solid path, tried, tested and laid ahead. Though we may deviate from the trail, these are the men we return to, for sage advice, wisdom and the infinite unspoken lessons”. While that might sound a little fanciful, these products, which include canvas bags and stubby holders, are certainly built to stand the test of time.

To coincide with Father’s day celebrations, the R.M.Williams brand has also launched a giveaway competition in partnership with The Australian Men’s Shed Association. Which offer safe and inclusive meeting spaces for men and women to connect, craft and find companionship, with the understanding that men often feel more able to open up and converse when standing shoulder to shoulder with a peer.

The giveaway competition is giving away five $4,000 shopping experiences to fans who share a beloved piece of advice from their father, father figure or loved one. The experience includes a $4,000 R.M.Williams voucher and a private shopping appointment for two at a store of their choice, where a dedicated member of the store team will be on hand to assist with styling and fit guidance. Each unique entry will also generate a $5 donation to the Australian Men’s Shed Association.
