For its latest seasonal collection, Aussie stalwart R.M.Williams has gone big. Entitled From The Ground Up, the new offering is the brand’s most extensive seasonal range yet, and what’s more, it carries a poignant message. Born of an appreciation for the wide, brown land, R.M.Williams’ new collection offers elevated garments that showcase the brand’s iconic outback heritage, honouring classics through a contemporary lens.
The collection is rooted in its signature boots, referencing its toe-to-head design philosophy, created from the ground up. Shot in New South Wales’ Snowy River National Park, amongst the quintessential ridges of Mount Kosciusko, the campaign imagery draws on this unique landscape for inspiration.
“Lasting quality is built from the ground up. Inspired, reflected by the land we tread. It keeps our feet on the ground, Gives us a solid footing to go forward together,” the brand wrote of its new collection. “That’s the commitment we make with every step. To walk beside each other, to stay true, from the ground up.”
In terms of palette, the is a dusty muted tone to most of the new pieces. Khaki greens, navy blues and mustard yellows act as core shades, while earthy rust reds and tobacco brown add a few natural highlights.
Best of all, R.M. Williams has continued its push into unisex and mixed-gender apparel. From The Ground Up offers an extensive range of new products and styles for both men and women, with a few reimagined classics thrown in for good measure.
Headlining the menswear range is the Rigger Commando, boot, a lace-up style with a flat heel and tonal back tug, while the Randwick lace-up boot in molten leather and Arnhem boot served to add a touch of contemporary flair to the mix. In terms of apparel, the Aussie icon has dipped into a more earthly ensemble, bringing new jackets, coats, vests and shirting plus hard-wearing fleeces and rugbys fuse utilitarian workwear and style into the fold.
The womenswear collection sees R.M.Williams blend elegance and utility with the introduction of the Erica boot, which features a chiselled toe with a flat heel in yearling leather. Similarly, the Curio, a square toe boot with a Cuban heel as well as the Victoria, a western-style top boot with a Cuban heel and a leather screwed outer sole follow the outback aesthetic. When it comes to apparel, however, R.M. Williams has definitely gone for a vintage vibe. Characterised by shearling jackets and bow neck blouses, the flowing silhouettes take things back to a simpler time.
This collection embodies this and acts as an invitation to explore craftsmanship From The Ground Up, true to the past, made for the future. The new R.M. Williams collection is available in stores and online now.
