Upon entering the interactive space dedicated to the Maison’s emblematic monogram design, visitors are greeted by a portrait of young Louis Vuitton himself before being immersed in five universes each dedicated to an aspect of LV. The exhibition is not just about fashion—it brings together a collection of contemporary looks as well as artistic collaborations and literary work.
First up, visitors dive straight into the Louis Vuitton fashion universe upon stepping into a room featuring a reverse-chronology selection of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear pieces, with looks created by the late Virgil Abloh and Nicolas Ghesquière, like Kim Jones and Marc Jacobs before them.
Next, delve into the world of all things bags. We know just how much LV is loved for its bag collection, and if you can’t afford one for yourself, what’s better than drooling over a wall of Louis Vuitton’s most iconic bags? Take the time to contemplate each bag’s fine details, alongside images of their celebrity friends, including Miranda Kerr, Jennifer Connelly, Samara Weaving, Kendall Jenner and Hugh Jackman.
Before you get too carried away, take the time to enthral yourself in an entire room dedicated to Louis Vuitton’s major contributions to the invention of luggage typologies, ranging from the iconic Wardrobe trunk to the Skateboard trunk, 1920s Auto trunks to 2020’s Louis Vuitton 2054 raincoat-tent. Oh, la la. Lastly, book nerds can discover Éditions Louis Vuitton’s latest literary launches and publications in a specially curated library space. Take a seat, put your legs up and delve into the Maison’s catalogue of over 100 titles. Warning—you may be here for a while!
The best bit? It’s free! The exhibition is open to the public with free admission and will run from November 4th until December 11th at Sydney’s iconic harbourside First Fleet Park, The Rocks. Reservations open October 28th, book below to be part of this truly unforgettable experience.
