Welcome to Sneaker News #84. This week, adidas is heading back to the beginning of the millennium with its YNuK capsule designed to trigger Y2K nostalgia. If you’re not ready to head back to that time, Nike is looking into the future with the latest colourway of the NOCTA Hot Step while New Balance has collaborated with Palace on one of the best-looking shoes of the year. The Adimatic instantly recalls Y2K nostalgia as it makes a return from the skate archives. These shoes exude a vibrant energy all their own, drawing inspiration from the cultural pillars of the early 2000s. The mid-profile suede upper boasts a luxurious softness, syncing with the bold silhouette and even bolder 3-Stripes. Also part of the YNuK capsule, adidas has another chunky offering. Drawing inspiration from the golden era of old-school skateboarding aesthetics, these shoes blend nostalgia with contemporary flair. With a classic shell toe and oversized proportions that command attention, the YNuK Supermodified sneakers make a pretty bold statement. The chunky laces may be the centrepiece but the bold 3-Stripes logo also threatens to steal the show.
