Swiss watchmaker Hublot has offered a new take on Summer style, releasing a limited-edition timepiece that captures Capri’s iconic Blue Grotto. The natural sea cave is a marvel of nature and the key inspiration for Hublot’s new Classic Fusion Chronograph Special-Edition Capri.
Highlighted by a bright blue aesthetic, the new Classic Fusion Chronograph Special Edition Capri comes in a 45 mm case of polished black ceramic, accented with a ceramic bezel rendered in a vivid turquoise blue. The contrast between light and dark represents the light refracted by the crystal-clear waters on the rocky walls of the Blue Grotto cave.
“Symbolising ‘la dolce vita,’ Capri is dotted with secret coves, sunny lanes to be discovered, cliff-top flower gardens and balconies lined with pine, lemon and olive trees,” Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe said. “Boasting dizzying views over the sumptuous Bay of Naples, the pearl of southern Italy is a veritable treasure trove that inspired Hublot to set up its boutique there in 2017. We think it deserves to be celebrated again.”
Further adding to the special-edition watch’s charm is a striated rubber strap in the same blue hue. From a technical perspective, the time contains the HUB113 self-winding chronograph movement with a power reserve of 42 hours.
Hublot said the lightweight watch was designed specifically for summer, thanks to its ceramic, hypoallergenic material that warms to body temperature. Don’t think you’ll be able to snag one of these beautiful blue pieces easily, however. The new Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Special-Edition Capri is limited to just 30 numbered pieces, available exclusively in the boutique on the island of Capri.
