U-BOAT Unveils New Capsule Watches

U-BOAT made waves (literally) when it came to fruition, and now the brand is back with its latest collection, aptly dubbed the Capsule collection. First introduced in 2015 at Baselworld, the Capsule piece was inspired by early underwater exploration bathyspheres. Italo Fontana, U-BOAT’s founder, was captivated by the depth gauges of the 1930s and incorporated their distinctive features into the design of this timepiece.

The Capsule pieces have a distinctive look like those primitive submarines. Clad in titanium and boasting a layered dial, the U-BOAT Capsule is an overly bold, quite masculine watch that will appeal to those looking for something that can be called, quote unquote, a statement piece.

  • Diameter: 45.5mm
  • Water Resistance: 30m

Featuring a beautiful black enamel grand feu dial and a hand-engraved caseback portraying a Chinese dragon, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Enamel Dragon commemorates the upcoming Lunar New Year. The depiction of the dragon is exquisite. Meticulous details throughout, paired with a pink gold case and that deep black grand feu enamel dial serves as the perfect backdrop for the dragon.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Enamel Dragon is made to order and is created by the artisans from the in-house Métiers Rares workshop. They use modelled engraving, where they paint the enamel dial but leave the silhouette of the dragon bare. Then, a master engraver goes to work, creating the spectacle that lies before you.

Bremont MBIII Stealth Limited Edition

  • Brand: Bremont
  • Model: MBIII Stealth Limited Edition
  • Reference Number: MBIII Stealth
  • Diameter: 43mm
  • Water Resistance: 100m
  • Calibre: BE-93-2AV
  • Power Reserve: 50 hours
  • Price: £4,750.00

New from Bremont is the MBIII Stealth Limited Edition. Bremont calls this a tactical and highly-technical timepiece, and with drawing inspiration from the military, the MBIII Stealth Limited Edition does hold its own as a genuinely interesting piece. Beyond its stealthy look, Bremont actually collaborated with long-standing partner Martin-Baker, the iconic ejection seat manufacturer.

It boasts a GMT, a 50-hour power reserve and an anti-shock movement mount. Like Martin-Baker’s esteemed ejection seats, the Bremont MBIII Stealth Limited Edition has gone through the same extensive testing program, coming out of the other side unscathed. This robustness comes with a premium, but damn does it look good.

Roger Dubuis Knights of the Round Table

  • Brand: Roger Dubuis Knights of the Round Table
  • Model:  Knights of the Round Table
  • Reference Number: RDDBEX1058
  • Diameter: 45mm
  • Water Resistance: 30m
  • Calibre: RD821
  • Power Reserve: 48 hours
  • Price: USD$348,000

The newest Roger Dubuis Knights of the Round Table iteration is perhaps the most avant garde yet. Made of titanium damascus and featuring an abstract, almost geometrical patterned dial, the Roger Dubuis Knights of the Round Table is a marvel of technique, details, and innovation.

You can view the 12 knights through the dial and through a sapphire dome between the bezel and the main body of the case, all the while marvelling at the unique patterns of that titanium Damascus case (which you may have seen before, routinely used for high-end knives). Very cool stuff.
