Different Cup (unit) Sizes in the US
In the United States, there are two main cup volumes used:
- Customary Cup – half of a liquid pint (236 mL) and is the traditional measure.
- Legal Cup – used in the United States for nutrition labelling and defined in United States law as 240 ml.
