Forget the Tallest Man Ever; Pizza Hut has achieved a Guinness World Record by constructing the “World’s Biggest Pie”. Spanning roughly 14,000 square feet, this gluten-based giant is so big it could feed an army (or at least a very hungry college dorm).

The pizza was crafted in the Los Angeles Convention Center, and it’s a sight to behold. It’s made with 13,653 pounds of dough, 4,948 pounds of marinara sauce, more than 8,800 pounds of cheese and nearly 630,496 pepperoni slices. That’s enough food to feed an entire city.
In a conversation with Reuters, Pizza Hut CEO David Graves confirmed that the pie is on its way to being certified by the Guinness Book of World Records. He also revealed that the company plans to cut the pizza into 68,000 slices and donate them to local food banks.
“It’s a big team, as you can see. Look, I mean, look at the size of it. It’s a giant pizza,” Graves said. “It’s about 14,000 square feet. So, if you think about that, it’s going to be like 68,000 slices of pizza when we’re all done. And the great thing is none of it’s going to waste. We can actually donate it to some local food banks here in the Los Angeles community. So, we’re really excited about that.”
Graves added, “You know, Pizza Hut has a history of making firsts, right? We were the first to deliver a pizza. We’re the first to take an order over the Internet. We’ve always done big, exciting things. And so, breaking the world record for the world’s largest pizza just felt like the right thing to do to celebrate bringing back our largest pizza. So, that’s why we did it.”
