Man of Many’s Staff Favourites – 15 June 2024

Is there anything more exciting than a short week? After the King’s Birthday celebrations made last weekend just that little bit longer (and sweeter), the past working week hasn’t felt so bad. We’ve been soaking up the rain, enjoying the creature comforts of winter weather, and fully immersing ourselves in the thrill of the NBA Finals, Euros and whatever was going on in the US Cricket World Cup. This weekend, you can expect more of the same, but before we sign off for another weekend, there is work to be done. Here is this week’s edition of Man of Many’s Staff Favourites. Please enjoy.

Slow Productivity

Cal Newport is a guy whose name I’ve seen thrown around in a lot of the productivity blogs I follow, but I wasn’t too familiar with his work. And I wish I’d gotten onto him sooner, as the insights he throws out in Kevin Rose’s latest podcast are absolutely incredible. For anyone who feels constantly busy (myself included), having the ability to reflect, slow down and have tools in place to structure your work is incredibly important. There are also handy tips in this I’ve shared with pushing back against your boss on things they ask you to do urgently. A strong recommendation for anyone interested in self-improvement, wellness and productivity. Also, Kevin Rose is a G so give him a subscribe.

Nike Dri-FIT Multiplier Crew Socks

Frank Arthur – Co-Founder

This week, my recommendation is bound to knock your proverbial socks off: the Nike Dri-FIT Multiplier Crew. If your gym socks are an afterthought, it’s time to reconsider. Nike Dri-FIT gym socks are some of the most comfortable you’ll ever wear. They’re soft, snug, and incredibly supportive, thanks to a unique elastic structure that provides firm yet non-restrictive tension in key areas. This innovative design ensures your feet feel supported where it matters most. Plus, you can say goodbye to swamp foot, as the Dri-FIT material wicks away sweat, keeping your feet cool and dry during workouts. I’ve owned several pairs of Dri-FIT socks over the years, and they’ve proven to be remarkably durable, maintaining their elasticity and comfort far longer than any other socks in my drawer. With a price tag of $35 a pair, replacing your entire sock drawer might be a stretch, but I highly recommend having a few pairs on hand. Your feet will thank you.

2024 Krondorf Collection

John Guanzon – Head of Social

I’ve made it known here a few times before, but I’m a sucker for a good Shiraz. Turns out I’m even more of a simp for a luxury range of Barossa Valley fine wine, crafted with some of the oldest vines in the region. Krondorf Wines has once again delivered an exceptional range that honours the rich history and unique terroir of the Barossa Valley.

The 2024 Collection includes four standout wines: the 121 Settlers Shiraz 2020, Stone Altar Grenache 2022, Stone Altar Shiraz 2022, and Kingship Cabernet Sauvignon 2022. The 121 Settlers Old Vine Shiraz 2020 is a tribute to the early settlers who founded Krondorf in the mid-1800s. Crafted from some of the oldest vines in the Barossa Valley, this Shiraz is cold-soaked and fermented before maturing in French oak barrels for 18 months, resulting in a wine of deep complexity and elegance.

The bottles themselves are visually striking, and valued at around $110, so it’s a worthy investment for any collector. Each one is designed with a sophisticated and timeless aesthetic that reflects the premium quality of the wine inside. The labels are meticulously crafted, featuring intricate details that pay homage to the heritage of the Barossa Valley. Displaying these bottles on your wine rack or dinner table is sure to impress guests even before the first pour.

Temple & Webster

Marcus Hurley – Sales and Partnerships Manager

When life gives you lemons, head to Temple & Webster and get it sorted. The past year has been a glorious tapestry of what life can throw at you, with the central theme being that of picking up and moving and picking up and moving again. Having finally settled in one location for what should be an extended period of time, it was time for my partner and I to start making our home homely.

Wanting to avoid the joys of IKEA (and when I say joys, I mean headaches) Temple & Webster offered an affordable and elegant solution. We just received our Bruce 1 Drawer Bedside Table’s (with a matching chest-of-drawers on the way) and they have already lifted the vibe of the room. The pieces are high quality, easy to put together and don’t break the bank. Head over to Temple & Webster now to make your house a home.

Swanndri Chalky Island Waffle Jumper

Alex Martinez – Media Sales and Brand Partnerships

I’ve gone from waffle burgers to waffle jumpers. The Swanndri Waffle Jumper is the ultimate treat yourself purchase and absolutely ideal in these cold and wet condition at the moment. It’s crafted from 65% lambswool so it feels like a nice warm hug all over. The best part? It can be dressed up or down making it suitable for lounging around the house but also at more formal events. You’ll appreciate it even more once you see how frequently you’ll reach for it throughout the week.

Nicki Minaj x LØCI Sneakers

Dayna Aspite – Branded Content Associate

Since starting at Man of Many there hasn’t been a day that goes by where someone isn’t wearing the coolest sneakers I’ve ever seen in an office. As someone who has been through five pairs of white Kmart sneakers, I knew it was time to up my shoe game. In comes the ultimate Barb stan statement of all time- Nicki Minaj x LØCI Sneakers!

With LØCI’s commitment to sustainability, these ethically made shoes are no exception from looking and feeling fire. I really appreciate the high sole as it gives extra comfort, making them perfect for all-day wear. The extra laces in the box were also a nice touch to switch up colour combos.

Australian Alpaca Association Socks

As someone who is on par with a lizard (wanting to constantly be soaking in the warmth of a heat lamp) I struggle to stay warm. This winter I’ve been trialling out different layers and materials to feel cozy and appropriate enough to leave the house. Alpaca fibre isn’t something I thought I needed until now! I was pleasantly surprised that I remained warm for an entire day’s wear- something that rarely happens with other socks, even in shoes. Expect softness, warmth and coziness of this luxury material to be your new best friend. Even for those a part of the sensitive skin club because alpaca fibres are actually hypoallergenic.

If you’re looking for a heat lamp type warm alternative, I highly recommend giving alpaca fibres a chance this winter.
