ANNA Stay’s been lauded for its sustainable design that emphasises a guest experience that reconnects with nature. With hand-movable walls, windows and a sleek wooden finish, Schols’ design redefines what’s possible when it comes to a tiny home experience. The cabin oscillates to the rhythm of the season and the weather conditions with two very impressive protective sliding shells that open up with ease. The inner shell is made of double glass and surrounded by an outer wooden shell. There’s also a glass roof that brings in plenty of natural light and warms up the space.

In addition, the indoor living area can transform into an open-air experience in seconds. You’ll find rubber and aluminium extrusion techniques used to ensure that ANNA always slides perfectly and remains water and wind-tight. We totally love how Schols’ maximised the space, and, at 4.5 metres tall, the ANNA cabin provides both a sense of space and freedom without compromising the features of a tiny home.

As far as implementing Schols’ creation, the ANNA cabin has a short construction time and minimal ecological disruption. It’s been designed so that 80 per cent of its unique parts can be produced locally in the future, via a digital file, on CNC machines and 3D printers anywhere in the world. And that’s an absolute game-changer as far as making the design accessible across the globe.

Schols’ latest ANNA project has received numerous awards and nominations, including the A+ Awards (New York) project of the Year and the Arc22 Dutch Architecture Awards as one of the top three most innovative architecture projects in the Netherlands.
