The much-anticipated hotel will be housed within the heritage-listed 113-year-old former Scotts Limited and David Jones building on Hunter Mall, which speaks to how the hotel carefully combines modern design while nurturing Newcastle’s rich history, all the while celebrating the city’s stunning coastline and surrounds. For this profound achievement, we can thank the QT design team and long-time design collaborator, Nic Graham. Graham’s vision of designing with new beginnings and renewal at the forefront, whilst respecting and maintaining the raw shell and layering contemporary life within, has been brought to life with this unique building.

QT Hotels & Resorts Group General Manager, Callum Kennedy, says “QT Newcastle is the latest evolution in the QT collection, and we’re thrilled to open the doors. QT Newcastle will live and breathe the same vibrancy and energy guests love from the world of QT, championing luxurious quirk and exciting collaborations in the Newcastle community. Rooftop at QT, boasting uninterrupted views across the harbour and signature restaurant Jana, led by Michelin star chef Massimo Speroni, will deliver the ultimate night out for locals and travellers. We are also delighted to have recruited a team of local talent that we welcome to the QT family”.
