Vagabund x Urwahn Platzhirsch is a Stealth e-Bike for the Urban Commuter

Vagabund and Urwahn collaborated on an electric bike that was designed to be discreet, but this two-wheeled beauty will definitely turn heads. The German-made Platzhirsch integrates its battery into the down tube of the steel frame, not that you would be able to tell from the eye-catching design.

The Vagabund x Urwahn E-bike has plenty going for it in addition to its stylish good looks. The frame is made of CrMo steel, giving it a rigid foundation for the rest of the build. The integrated battery powers a MAHLE e-bike motion hub motor on the rear wheel. This capable motor hides its true potential aptly, easily passing as another gear on the bike.

But that motor is impressive in its own right, providing 30 lb-ft of torque. The battery has enough juice to power the motor for an estimated range of 50 miles. You can also pick up an extension pack to get another 37 miles out of the bike.

In addition to the powertrain, the bike comes with a bevy of safety features that make this contestant a champion when it comes to urban commuting. LED lights are integrated into the front handle as well as behind the seat to increase a rider’s visibility whilst in traffic. The rear lights sit right below a Brooks Cambium C15 carved all-weather saddle. The elastic rear suspension provides a smooth ride, while the Continental tires are puncture resistant for any of the hazards you might run into while cycling.

For your braking needs, the bike comes with a flat-mount hydraulic braking system with a Gates Carbon belt drive, which requires very low maintenance. A Hexlox security theft system as well as a GPS tracking system keep the bike secure when not in use. Mounting points can be used for the extender or for a water bottle, and all the cables have been internally routed. You can also add on mudguards and a carrying rack. Vagabund is offering the bike for €4,999.
