Verge TS Ultra Electric Motorcycle is a 201HP Real-Life ‘Blade Runner’ Bike

After teasing us for ages, the TS Ultra has finally made its illustrious debut. The production-spec iteration of Finnish company, Verge’s genre-bending electric motorcycle, the unique piece of automotive ingenuity hit CES 2023 like a hurricane. With an appearance that looks straight out of Blade Runner, complete with futuristic detailing and an outlandish design, the Verge TS Ultra makes a seriously strong argument for the future of two-wheeled transport.

Importantly, the real talking point of this fast electric motorcycle is its ‘hubless’ tyres, which see the motor placed within the rim of the rear wheel. The unusual design choice separates the Verge TS Ultra from other electric motorcycles in that it enables the bike to save weight, a stark change of pace in the burgeoning electric market. In recent years, producers have been hellbent on piling on weight in order to increase power, coming at the expense of acceleration, however, Verge has done quite the opposite. Moving the motor place has not only allowed the brand to slip in a larger battery size for more range, it has also helped to furth lower the centre of gravity and improve overall handling.

In terms of numbers, this two-wheeler rocket ship can sprint to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, which is enough to see it rub shoulders with conventional superbike royalty in the performance stakes. The top speed is a whopping 200 km/h, arriving courtesy of a ludicrous 201 bhp e-motor that dishes out an astonishing 1200Nm of torque, but power isn’t everything and Verge knows this all too well.

The Finnish brand has also up the stakes when it comes to range, claiming a cool 275km per full charge, a milestone you only need 25 minutes to achieve. Buyers can customize the bike with an adjustable suspension from Öhlins, seat material colours or matte/glossy exterior paint finishes though we think the matte black adds a sinister look with its alien-like face. The Verge is faster than other electric motorcycles like the LiveWire One with faster acceleration and it is now on sale in the US with pre-orders starting from $1,000 with deliveries starting from Q4 2023.
