Who Were this Year’s Hosts?

Now we get to the good stuff. Our top picks for the Oscars this year really went out of their way to bring together a bold ensemble. Even more so, sophistication and elegance continued to be central to several of these outfits. Opting for contemporary cuts and piece by piece attire, our best in class knew how to bring it. In no particular order, check out the list of standout garbs below.

2022 Oscars Best Looks Red Carpet

Easily one of the most daring looks of the night, ‘Dune’ frontman Timothée Chalamet has already earned his rep for being one of the best dressed stars to hit the carpet. With this edgy attire, Chalamet demonstrated that womenswear is just as versatile for men. Dawning a shirtless physique with a jacket and pants from Louis Vuitton, Chalamet looked like a true rockstar. The glitzed top was accompanied with minimal necklaces and a handful of tasteful rings.

We can’t forget about accompanying ‘Dune’ star and ‘Euphoria’ extraordinaire Zendaya. In a stunning two piece custom Valentino, Zendaya demonstrated that a bit of sparkle goes a long way. The delicate buttoned white crop top accentuates the actress with absolute elegance. The eye-catching skirt also features a generous train that creates pronounced elenogating lines. With a modern pendant and diamonds cuffed around her wrists, Zendaya was easily the best dressed woman that evening.

Stepping out in a vibrant turquoise jacket, the British actor Daniel Kaluuya brought one of the most vibrant looks of the festivities. Paired with sleek black trousers, the Gucci ensemble brightens up the otherwise traditional black and white tuxes seen among most of the attendees. The actor goes for a subtle black button down underneath, and pairs the outfit with a unique gold ring.

Speaking of bright ensembles, the Canadian Marvel favourite Simu Liu brought the heat with an all red tuxedo. With the tailoring on point, the actor’s two pieces feature superb craftsmanship courtesy of Atelier Versace. To add a little more contrast, the actor adds a jet black bow tie and polished loafers. Gold accessories bring a regal quality to the already classy tux.

As one of the most sought out actors of his generation, it’s no wonder Jacob Elordi shows up in a traditional Burberry ensemble. Epitomizing the class and brilliance of a leading Hollywood man, you can’t go wrong with an iconic black and white tuxedo. Keeping it simple throughout, the ‘Euphoria’ star adds a small gold earring to tie everything together.

Ariana DeBose made history last night as the first openly queer Afrolatina to win an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. Uplifting and celebrating her community, the ‘West Side Story’ actress brought radiant energy in her Custom Valentino Haute Couture look. The all red attire featured a wide leg pant, bustier top, and voluminous shawl that also doubled as a train. With a diamond necklace and earrings adding a touch of bling, Ariana delivered serious heat on the carpet.

The ‘Spider-man’ actor amazed with a handsome velvet look this Oscars season. The deep wine colored jacket accents wide lapels and a broad shoulder silhouette. A vintage looking bow tie with a satin finish gives another nostalgic touch. Matched with a black tailored pant, Garfield dazzles in Saint Laurent.

Going for a more casual approach, Jake Gyllenhal showed up on the red carpet with an all black look that reflected his sophistication and taste. The relaxed silhouette from Givenchy comes with deep textures and hues to layer on the drama. Adding an unreleased Cartier watch to his ensemble, Gyllenhaal’s look was most impressive.

We also can’t forget Kristen Stewart’s two piece look that had audiences fully wowed. Going for a complete Chanel ensemble, the ‘Spencer’ actress went for a daring fit that converted shorts to chic. With legs for days, Stewart complimented the bottoms with black pumps and a freshly blown hair do. The outfit was also accessorized with a diamond bolo tie necklace and a gaping neckline – bringing the ultimate “it girl” factor to the carpet.

Last but not least, Kodi Smit-McPhee stunned in a complete Bottega Veneta look for his first Oscars. The baby blue suit doesn’t take itself too seriously, and adds a refreshing twist to the otherwise classic silhouette. The double breasted jacket is the perfect amount of oversized. The pants hit just right at the ankle, allowing us to get a good look at those legendary woven platforms. With a knack for capturing Hollywood glam, we look forward to seeing Kodi’s style evolve in the years ahead.
