Most TVs aren’t designed to be picked up. Samsung’s new Movingstyle, though, is truly built different. It has a built-in handle, wheels and a kickstand. Yep, Samsung’s $1,999 portable 27-inch QHD touchscreen TV can go pretty much anywhere you want it to.
It starts off attached to a rollable floor stand with hidden wheels, but you can detach the screen from its mount and carry it somewhere else entirely.
We’ve seen plenty of this thinking lately. LG’s StanbyME 2 Max put a much larger 32-inch 4K touchscreen on wheels, while the upcoming IKEA YXSTABY TV stand takes a far simpler approach by putting your existing TV on castors. The Movingstyle lands somewhere in the middle, but Samsung has given far more attention to the physical act of moving and using the screen in different places.
1/6Pick It Up and Put It Somewhere Else
Keep the Movingstyle attached to its floor stand and you can wheel it between rooms, adjust its height, tilt or swivel the display and rotate it between landscape and portrait. Because it’s a touchscreen, you can also tap, swipe and scroll directly on the display rather than reaching for a remote every time you move it somewhere new.
But once you take it off the stand, Samsung’s design shows off some neat tricks. The 5.2kg display has a handle built into the back, so you can pick up the whole screen and take it with you. It’s not quite what you’d expect to see someone carrying around the living room, but then again, how else are you going to move it?
Better still, you don’t even need to take the whole floor stand with you. That same assembly doubles as an adjustable kickstand, meaning you can drop the screen onto a desk, kitchen bench or even the floor without needing another mount.
According to Samsung’s own research, one in ten Aussies now say they want TVs designed to be rollable, flexible and portable. Another 26 per cent say they reach for a laptop, tablet or smartphone to watch major broadcast events, suggesting plenty of us are already used to taking our viewing away from the main TV.

To make sure there’s enough juice to get through major broadcast events and binge-watching sessions, the Movingstyle packs a rechargeable 69.3Wh battery, with Samsung quoting up to three hours of use. So moving away from the stand doesn’t immediately mean you’re on the floor hunting for a power point.
For everything else, you get HDMI, two USB-C ports, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, while the touchscreen supports up to five simultaneous inputs and a maximum 120Hz refresh rate. You also get Dolby Atmos and HDR10+ Adaptive.
Samsung has also thrown in plenty of its usual smart-TV extras, including Tizen, Art Store, Galaxy device mirroring and Vision AI Companion. There’s even something for the kids. Samsung’s Sketch Now turns the Movingstyle into a mobile digital drawing board, letting children draw directly on the touchscreen. It can also double as an electronic music stand, karaoke screen or e-reader, making it more than just a TV you can wheel from one room to the next.
The Samsung Movingstyle is available in Australia now for $1,999.
