Tissot’s Gentleman watches are ideal daily drivers, offering a deft balance of classic elegance and modern style. This ensures a level of versatility that means these understated gems are just as at home dressed up for the office as they are dressed down for the weekend, serving up subtle style from your morning commute to date night and beyond. Now, due to popular demand, the celebrated Swiss watchmaker is bringing a very welcome 38 mm refresh to this traditionally 40 mm line, and Man of Many managed to get our hands on the new releases ahead of time. Lucky us!
We’re happy to report that Tissot has hit the bullseye with these four new references. Their new sizing is a real sweet spot that will open up the Gentleman line to those with a slightly smaller wrist (or anyone else looking for a more compact piece of wristwear) without compromising any of the masculinity inherent in the original design.

A Triumphant Tetralogy
The offering of four richly coloured dials heightens the versatility of Tissot’s new proposition. With black, white, dark blue, and (our favourite) dark green options, there’s sure to be one that aligns with your own personal aesthetic.
Each dial boasts a pyramidal shape with a striking sunray finish—capturing and shaping the light in eye-catching ways—and is adorned with faceted, nickelled indices, as well as dagger hands applied with Super-LumiNova to ensure legibility under a range of lighting conditions. Furthermore, at 3 o’clock, a framed date display adds another level of practicality without interfering with the dial’s to-the-point elegance.
Sitting atop all of this, a domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating ensures optimal legibility in changing light conditions. The crystal also accentuates the curvature of the perfectly balanced case, which features a sleek, well-proportioned profile elevated by the subtle juxtaposition of brushed and polished surfaces. These finishes extend to the three-row stainless-steel bracelet, which features polished links at its centre, flanked by brushed links on either side.

On the Move
The whole affair is powered by Tissot’s famed Powermatic 80 movement, which provides tremendous accuracy and (as the name suggests) a power reserve of up to 80 hours. This impressive reserve makes the Tissot Gentleman ideal for those looking for a watch they can rely on, particularly if they’re prone to rotating their timepieces on a regular basis.
Moreover, the movement is equipped with a Nivachron TM balance spring. Engineered to enhance each watch’s resistance to magnetic fields, shocks, and temperature variations, it helps safeguard the 38 mm Tissot Gentleman’s considerable precision and stability over time.

A Modern Classic
The 38 mm Tissot Gentleman takes a bestselling watch and updates it for the modern watch lover. It maintains everything we appreciate about the 40 mm model and makes it more accessible than ever. That’s great news for anyone looking to add genuine Swiss style to their rotation.
Delivering the kind of everyday sophistication we simply never grow tired of, this trim new take on the Tissot Gentleman reaffirms its status as a modern classic through and through.
