As Pete Davidson will tell you, don’t get on Kanye West’s bad side. Unfortunately, a Melbourne-based burger shop is the latest victim to face his wrath, recently forced to remove its menu and logo after the musician’s lawyers threatened legal action.

Until yesterday, College Dropout Burgers in Ivanhoe was a Ye-themed restaurant, featuring a massive mural of the rap legend at the entrance, several food items named in his honour and logos of his album stamped on its buns. Additionally, the business’s name also paid homage to West’s debut album, The College Dropout, first released in 2004.
Outgunned and outmanned by the billionaire’s legal team, owner Mark Elkhouri felt he had no option but to accede to their demands. “The brand was created to celebrate him,” he told 7NEWS. Disappointed by the recent news, the owner admitted West was “his hero” and the brand was a tribute to him.
Adding insult to injury, West reportedly used to follow the burger store on Instagram. However, Elkhouri has now had to put a temporary sign over all West-themed logos, reading: “Insert logo here. Ok thanks, bye”. Although the shop’s soul has been dampened, the recipe for its popular cuisine has not.
The burger names have been changed to other celebrities who dropped out of college, including the Zuck Burg and another named after Bill Gates. As a college dropout himself, Elkhouri says the store’s name will remain the same.
While we are on the subject, here are a few other successful college dropouts Elkhouri could name his burgers after: Steve Jobs, Oprah, Ellen DeGeneres, Lady GAGA and Steven Spielberg. Never give up, folks.
