First up, let’s just ignore the Scientology side of things; it’s a non-factor. What we want are answers. We want the truth. How the hell is Tom Cruise is STILL jumping motorcycles off of cliffs at the age of 58?! The man is nearly sixty and still does his own movie stunts. Whatever he believes in must be granting him some crazy anti-ageing powers because, at this stage, he’s basically Ethan Hunt.
From his countless running scenes to his insane action movie resume, the man just won’t quit. Proving once again that he really does do his own stunts, a new video has surfaced online showing Tom Cruise riding a motorcycle at full speed right off a gargantuan cliffside ramp.
Filming for the upcoming Mission Impossible 7 in Norway, Cruise just can’t help himself. Whether it be hanging from helicopters or a goddamn aeroplane, Tom Cruise takes the ill-fated midlife crisis to the next level. Sure, your dad may have bought a motorbike when he turned 50. Cruise? He drives them off the goddamn cliffs and lands it. Well, technically he uses a parachute, but you get the idea.
Taken by NRK, a Norwegian state-owned media outlet, the vision is just incredible. The stunt on its own is mind-blowing, but when you take into account that this stunt had to be filmed – the level of coordination from the film team – along with Cruise himself has to be applauded. Props to the helicopter pilot too.
Out of those watching the insane feat, Ole Arnstein Ringdal said he saw Cruise perform the jump not once, not twice but four times! “After the third jump, he came over and talked to us from a distance of twenty metres. He loves nature here, and is very grateful for the hospitality he has experienced.”
Director Christopher McQuarrie shared a photo of the jump on Instagram that would make even the bravest man think again. Inducing vertigo from the very sight of it, Cruise is just insatiable when it comes to the impossible. But hey, that’s the whole point of the Impossible Missions Force and the man known as Ethan Hunt.
Although at this stage, Tom Cruise may as well come out and announce the existence of the IMF, since, at this point, he’s obviously a real super agent. Maybe for some science-based organisation…
