‘The Bear’ Season 4 Reportedly Renewed, Before Season 3 Has Even Premiered

FX’s culinary drama The Bear has become a sleeper hit and after two critically acclaimed seasons, the heat is back on in the kitchen. Season three is currently in production and now Variety reports that FX is already prepping season four. According to the publication, the fourth instalment will film back-to-back with the third season, meaning we won’t have to wait long for another serving of kitchen chaos.

For now, details about The Bear season three’s plot remain scarce, so anticipating the arc of season four is near-impossible. What’s more, the Disney-owned network has not officially confirmed the season four renewal and it’s unclear if it will be the final season.

In the immediate future, attention turns to The Bear season three, which has no release date as of yet. During the recent winter TCA press tour, FX chairman John Landgraf teased that season three would return sometime in June this year but stayed tight-lipped on specifics. When grilled about whether the cast would feature more high-profile guest stars or see the return of older ones, he playfully dodged the question, saying, “Unfortunately, I can’t. I was as surprised as you were when the Christmas episode came through the door.”

As we noted earlier this year, season three of The Bear will most likely pick up right where the chaotic brilliance of season two left off. We can expect to see Jeremy Allen White‘s Carmy and his crew continuing their fight to turn his family’s sandwich shop into a fine-dining haven. The upcoming season may also address the aftermath of Carmy’s confession while the rest of the kitchen staff grapple with finding deeper meaning within the demanding kitchen environment, however, nothing has been confirmed.

While the cast hasn’t been officially announced for season three, we can expect series regulars Jeremy Allen White (Carmy), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Richie), and Ayo Edebiri (Sydney) to reprise their roles in the upcoming season along with the rest of the ensemble cast, which includes Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Abby Elliott, and Matty Matheson. Apart from this, we can also expect recurring guests Jon Bernthal who plays Michael “Mikey” Berzatto, Carmy and Natalie’s late brother, Oliver Platt, and even Jamie Lee Curtis to appear in Season 3 along with a bunch of new faces. FX’s The Bear season three is set to release sometime in June 2024.
