“From the guys who taught John Wick how to kick ass” comes Day Shift, a new Netflix film hitting the streaming service on August 12 that asks the question, what if Blade wore Hawaiian shirts and had a sunnier disposition? Watch the trailer above to see Jamie Foxx as a vampire hunter with a twist – while those who traditionally pursue the undead do so out of a desire for revenge or a need to protect the innocent, Foxx is in it for the money: “Know what I see when I see a vamp? A big ol’ dollar sign.”

Foxx is joined by Dave Franco, playing a newcomer to the vampire-hunting game caught off guard by the existence of the blood suckers (as is his bladder), and Snoop Dogg as you’ve never seen him before – decked out head to toe in the slickest of cowboy gear and toting one hell of a minigun.
As far as we can tell, the film‘s plot revolves around Foxx’s character being in desperate need of $10k in order to keep his wife and daughter from moving to Florida, so he agrees to take up a contract from “The Union” that requires a whole lot of vampires to die. The flick clearly won’t be pulling its punches along the way either, with the trailer containing multiple beheadings, stabbings, and liberal use of Foxx’s shotgun.

Directed by J.J. Perry, who was heavily involved in stunt work for the first two John Wick outings and has also acted as a stunt coordinator for the Fast & Furious franchise, Day Shift‘s trailer gives off that leave-your-brain-at-the-door relentless action vibe that can be perfect for a night on the couch with friends and pizza.
As Foxx’s character says, “Vampires, they live amongst us and all they are is murderers. It’s not Eclipse, New Moon, Breaking Dawn: Part 1.” Well, we can all be very grateful for that.
