Juancho Hernangomez AKA ‘Bo Cruz’ from ‘Hustle’ Signs New NBA Deal and the Memes are Wild

The Cruz missile is heading to the Raptors. Juancho Hernangomez, who played Bo Cruz in Adam Sandler’s Netflix film Hustle, has just inked a deal with the Toronto-based NBA franchise. The Spanish forward will be on a partially guaranteed one-year contract for the 2022 season.

After averaging 3.3 points per game in Salt Lake City, Hernangomez was waived by the Utah Jazz at the end of last year. He was on a team that landed the fifth seed in the Western Conference but will now turn his attention towards pushing the rebuilding Raptors towards the postseason.

Hernangomez entered the league in 2015 as the Denver Nuggets’ 15th pick in the 2015 NBA draft. Since then, he’s bounced around the league, playing minor roles with the Timberwolves, Celtics, Spurs, and Jazz. Now, he’ll join a new squad, and it’s sent NBA fans into a frenzy on social media.

NBA reporter Adrian Wojnarowski was first to report the news, reporting the 26-year-old was close to finalising the one-year deal. As you’d expect after his debut Netflix performance, the comment section went wild with memes from the sports flick. Many believed Adam Sandler, who played Hernangomez’s coach in Hustle, to be the happiest to hear the breaking news. As Hernangomez begins his new adventure with the Toronto Raptors in 2022, expect to see the Hustle memes fly around on social media every time he plays on the court. We just want to see Bo Cruz go head to head with his archnemesis Kermit Wilts (Anthony Edwards) again.
