Tiger King, the number one show everyone in isolation is watching, talking about and quoting is set to return with a new episode; at least, that’s what show villain and studded belt aficionado Jeff Lowe is saying. In a video posted to Twitter on Sunday, Lowe revealed that there is one Tiger King episode still to air. “Netflix is adding one more episode. It will be on next week. We’re filming here tomorrow,” Lowe said in his post. Wow-wee all you cool cats and kittens, it looks like we may be in for another wild ride.
The news of the new Tiger King episode comes from an unlikely source. Los Angeles Dodgers baseballer Justin Turner was the man behind the big announcement in a reveal befitting the absurdity of the hit Netflix docu-series. Apparently, Turner mentioned his love for Tiger King during an episode of his wife Kourtney Turner’s podcast Holding Kourt. Nigh on immediately, Jeff Lowe got in contact, posting the video. “Hey Kourtney and Justin, this is Jeff and Lauren from the Tiger King show on Netflix. Thanks for watching our show,” Lowe says in his post.
Lowe then reveals that another episode is being filmed and will go to air shortly, before signing off by telling Turner to “stay safe and put your mask on.” It has certainly been a strange series of events that led to the announcement, which as of yet, Netflix has not confirmed, but it would be in keeping with the Tiger King legend. The true-crime docu-series has exploded in popularity since launching on Netflix on March 20, becoming one of the most talked-about programs on television. Telling the story of exotic animal owner Joe Exotic and his near-fatal run-ins with supposed wildlife warrior Carole Baskin, Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness has emerged as a runaway hit for the streaming platform. Turns out meth, tigers and a murder-for-hire make for a pretty interesting series.
Whether it is about to return, as Jeff Lowe says or not is still yet to be confirmed, but anyone who has seen Tiger King knows the zoo owner isn’t always the most reliable of sources. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, you can’t trust anyone that wears a bandana under their hat.
