The first Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer confirms two of the biggest stars from Sam Raimi’s Tobey Macguire-led franchise will be making a comeback. Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin will return to face the web-slinger, while Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus is also set to make an appearance. But while there was confirmation that some stars were back in action, there were some notable exclusions, namely Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
For months, fans had been speculating that the two former Spider-Man actors would make a triumphant return to the Spidey-screen in what would be an all-star buffet of talent. While No Way Home didn’t elaborate on conjecture, fans are quick to point out that Sony wouldn’t play all its cards in the opening trailer, after all, there is still four months to go before the film hits cinemas.

Among them, Marvel favourites Benedict Cumberbatch, Jamie Foxx, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon and Benedict Wong. The film has been directed by Jon Watts – who helmed the previous two instalments – and co-written by Chris McKenna and Eric Sommers.
