In one of the more exciting film announcements for 2020, 20th Century Fox has dropped its first trailer for the highly-anticipated prequel to the Kingsman series of films, The King’s Man.
Set in the early 1900s and starring Ralph Fiennes and Rhys Ifans, the film explores the nascent years of the fictional band of super spies, as they have to join forces and fight a bevy of baddies in the name of good triumphing evil etc, etc. All up, it looks set to be a good balance between gentlemanly manners and badass action sequences; if the last two films are anything to go by then director Matthew Vaughan will have managed this with aplomb.
Though none of the stars of the previous two films (namely Colin Firth, and Rocketman‘s Taron Egerton) are returning for The King’s Man, Vaughan has rounded up some pretty big names to fill out the rest of his cast, including Djimon Hounsou, Gemma Arterton, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Charles Dance and Daniel Brühl.
The King’s Man is slated for a February 14 release date.
