Announced on Wednesday via social media, the new fred again.. tour will see the British DJ perform his unique brand of heavy synth to his largest Australian audiences. His previous Laneway Festival performances and sold-out headline shows were to smaller crowds, but after shattering records at international venues such as Madison Square Garden and London’s Alexandra Palace, Gibson is stepping things up a notch.

It comes after Gibson played a surprise pop-up performance at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday, an event that sold-out within minutes. According to Warner Music Australia, Fred again..’s local label, more than 125,000 people jumped into the virtual queue following the announcement of the performance, which has since been described as a “record-breaking, turbocharged night”.
