John Daly Hooters

Inside John Daly’s Wild Bender at Hooters During Masters Week

They call The Masters a ‘tradition unlike any other’, and John Daly’s annual trip to Augusta is no different. It’s been nearly two decades since the big swingin’ veteran played for a green jacket, but that doesn’t stop him from embracing the city during the greatest week in golf. Every year when the tournament rolls into town, Daly hops into his iconic RV and makes the pilgrimage to the Augusta Hooters, where he sucks the venue dry of its booze with the fans. The Daly sideshow has become something of a legend in its own right, having to be seen to be believed. And this year was no different.

Daly rolled into the local establishment’s car park to enjoy a drink, stuff his face with chicken wings, talk with the fans and of course flog a bunch of official John Daly merchandise. As you’d expect, the wild man took a bunch of pictures with Hooters staff, which eventually found their way onto social media. After a huge week on the sauce, most people would pack up camp and head home. However, Daly wasn’t done.

Following Scottie Scheffler’s debut win, Daly jumped in his RV and headed to Myrtle Beach for a Masters-inspired jam session. A known lover of music, he got on stage with Darius Rucker and the other members of Hootie & the Blowfish to perform at the annual Monday After the Masters concert. Below you can hear him play bob Dylan’s Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door with the band. Surprisingly, the 55-year-old has got some half decent pipes on him.
