“I really wanted to create a synthesis of powerful, sophisticated femininity, with an interplay of multiple American and Parisian influences, sports and craftsmanship,” creative director of Givenchy, Matthew M. Williams said in a statement. “Next to her stands a contemporary man with an instinct for chic nonchalance. On the runway, both are grounded by a sense of reality.”
In these daily ensemble looks, vintage graphics meet a generous dose of grunge inspired aesthetic. Meticulous leatherwork is incorporated to bring a more contemporary feel, while layers and textures are a key focus of the collection. Making the formal feasible for the everyday, Williams creates adaptable pieces for men and women that signal a regal quality to the garments.

Moreover, Williams referred to the late inspiration of Hubert de Givenchy for his sense of taste and practical ornamentally. The astounding range of the collection makes these pieces nothing short of showstopping – hardware becomes jewellery, as pearls become studs. Down to the most minuscule detail, the models sporting the collection carry a brooding variety of steel accessories across their faces and body.
Reimagination seems to be at the soul of this capsule, with a reworked ocelot print from 1955 being interpreted into masculine outerwear. Speaking of, the versatile curation of outdoor apparel gives us endless choices to sport in the coming winter days. Distinguished hues of rich browns, greens, greys and blacks create muted tones for the otherwise smart attire. Emphasizing sensible and tailored silhouettes, the guys’ pieces carry a classic allure with modern contours. Double-breasted forms, elongated coats, and tactile vests make for timeless features that embrace a luxurious lifestyle.

Another remarkable hallmark of the collection is the use of denim. Opting for 90s inspired, light-washed jeans, the oversized bottoms are a casual staple that achieves a refined vibe. Paired with a sleek turtleneck, we’re ready to hit the office in these ready-to-wear looks.
Lastly, leather accessories and garments give a consistent edge to the collection. Whether in the oversized coats or polished pants, the structured material elevates the quality of the articles. The enduring medium is also fashioned into a number of accessories and goods. Quilted backpacks and colossal satchels pair effortlessly with the off-duty fits.
While there are several extraordinary outfits in this collection, it’s Williams’ interpretation of Givenchy’s vision that gives the brand a dazzling future.
