Saturdays NYC X Oakley Hydra Takes You From Surf to City


The coast of California meets the concrete streets of the Big Apple in Oakley‘s latest collaboration with Saturdays NYC. The collection inspired by vintage surfing and urban American is also a perfect match for the Australian coastal lifestyle. The epic drop is designed to take you straight from the cityscape to your post-work surf.

Oakley x Sundays NYC 23 is the ultimate surf meets street collaboration, merging the essence of California surf and New York City street culture to strike a perfect balance between city and beach living. For Saturdays NYC, an apparel company renowned for its deep roots in surf culture, a partnership with the ultra-modern sports eyewear brand only seemed only fitting.

Together, the compatibly minded brands sought to showcase not just a collaboration of design but an idea; that surfing is much more than a sport, but a way of life that blends travel, culture and a rebellious spirit.

Saturdays NYC lies at the core of surf culture, living and breathing the beach way of life. We found Oakley in our shared love for the waves, and we could not wait to ride this one together,” said Colin Tunstall and Morgan Collett, co-founders at Saturdays NYC.

The collection standout would have to be the attention-grabbing Oakley x Saturdays x Hydra Sunglasses; a reinterpretation of Oakley’s original design, now with vibrant Prizm Ruby lenses that tune in colour and tune out distractions. The frames include a custom Saturday’s NYC etching on the front of the lens. The curated apparel line-up features a hoodie, tees and board shorts, intended to satisfy the eyes, mind and heart.

Altogether, the collection resonates effortlessly with the unique Aussie style we see in Melbourne and Sydney’s on-trend suburbs.

The Oakley x Saturdays NYC eyewear and apparel collection hit the online store on June 15 as well as in Saturdays NYC Crosby St. store in New York, Japan and Australia locations, selected retailers (MR PORTER, SSENSE) and Oakley stores.
