New Balance and Aimé Leon Dore are teaming up once again for the revival of a 1982 hiking boot worn by mountaineer Lou Whittaker when he scaled Everest. ALD may not be expecting anyone to take on Everest with these but it’s likely to become a sought-after lifestyle shoe. All the detailing is still there from D-ring lacing to waterproof Gore-Tex lining but it’s elevated by burgundy Cordura with tan nubuck overlays. Keep your eye on Subtype for this drop on 20th January.

The shoe spotlights Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Guangzhou with detailing including bold colour-blocking, chenille Swooshes and tongues, and fluffy accents as a nod to the rabbit. ASICS Gel-Lyte V ‘Multi’

The ASICS Gel-Lyte V looks to the cutting room floor for inspiration, repurposing discarded materials to create something new. It achieves this by using mixed leathers, nubucks, and suedes alongside a colourway that suits the mismatched aesthetic. The multi-coloured approach is bold and exciting, combining a colour-blocked upper with a paint-splattered midsole. The midsole also uses 20% recycled materials. Head to Subtype now to cop.
