YEEZY Day is officially upon us. A day where hypebeasts, resellers, and Ye stans unite in celebration of the famous adidas Yeezy sneaker range. Last officially marked in the calendar for 2 August 2022 in North America and 3 August 2022 in Europe, and Asia, the sneaker holiday saw different SKUs dropping in different regions across the world. We’ve consolidated all the rumours, releases, and reports below to bring you a list of every shoe that’s was released on Yeezy Day. This includes the return of the Turtle Dove, Wave Runner, Ararat Foam Runner, and even a few new releases thrown in for good measure.
Key and Important Updates to YEEZY Day:
- August 2023 Event: Adidas held a major Yeezy sale featuring various styles and new colourways.
- Change in Format: Unlike previous years, there wasn’t a single, pre-announced “Yeezy Day” in 2023.
- Cancelled Releases: Initially planned Yeezy releases for November 2023 were cancelled due to increasing tensions between Adidas and Kanye West.
- Indefinite Cancellation: In November 2023, Adidas indefinitely cancelled all upcoming Yeezy releases amid ongoing conflicts.
- 2024 Releases: Adidas announced a new lineup of Yeezy releases, beginning with the Yeezy Boost 350 v2 “Steel Grey” on February 29, 2024.
- Ongoing Strategy: Throughout 2024, Adidas released additional Yeezys, but not on a specific “Yeezy Day” as in past years.
What is YEEZY Day?
The first Yeezy Day fell in 2019, and you can think of it as the three-stripes challenge to other famous sneaker holidays such as Nike Air Max Day and New Balance Grey Day. It’s a Yeezy fan’s best chance at securing some of the most valuable and sought-after Yeezy sneakers in the lineup, including unreleased models and the return of some crowd favourites.
When is YEEZY Day?
Previously, Yeezy Day 2022 occurred on August 2nd in North America and August 3rd in Europe and Asia. The day does not coincide with Kanye West’s birthday, which is on June 8. However, in 2023, there was no specific “Yeezy Day” as Adidas shifted away from the single-day event format. Moving forward, Adidas has opted to release new Yeezy styles throughout the year without designating a particular “Yeezy Day.”

adidas Yeezy 700
The Yeezy 700 is set to make waves (pardon the pun) on Yeezy Day 2022. This year is set to mark the return of the Wave Runer, which has become something of lore even after the Dad Shoe trend started to calm down. Alongside the return of the Wave Runner 700, fans should expect to see the ‘Azael’ 700 V3 and neutral-toned ‘Static’ 700 release on the same day. The new ‘Hi-Res Blue’ colourway is also said to release as part of Yeezy Day 2022.

adidas Yeezy Foam Runner
A number of Yeezy Foam Runners are rumoured to be releasing on Yeezy Day 2022, this includes the unreleased MX Carbon pair below and the rare ‘Ararat’ colourway. The MX Carbon model is featured in a randomised marbled pattern comprising of jet black, tan, and yellow colours. It’s made from the same all-over EVA foam material and features the same oval cutout patterns. No two pairs of shoes will look the same.

adidas Yeezy Knit Runner
Maybe the most abstract Yeezy sneaker we’ve seen to date, the Knit Runner appears to draw on Balenciaga designs and delivers a neoprene upper that stretches and conforms to your foot. We recommend sizing up for your knit runners (we wear a US11 in 350s and prefer a Knit Runner in US12). While it’s far from the most sought-after model, the knit runner first made an appearance with the release of the ‘Sulfur’ colourway in September 2021. This Faded Azure colour is rumoured to be US Exclusive and flips the yellow and cream for a blue and green faded upper.

adidas Yeezy Slide
House of Heat reports that the Yeezy Slide ‘Flax’ will also be released this month – most likely on Yeezy Day – and presents a golden-wheat finish that’s perfect for wearing with any pair of tracksuit pants you can throw at them. While we’d guess this isn’t the only Yeezy slide to release on Yeezy Day, the market has relaxed on this model as a whole and you can pick up a black pair for around $200 AUD.
