Breitling watch in partnership with bentley

Breitling Chronomat Bentley Makes Mechanical Watches “Cool” Again

Swiss watchmaker Breitling and luxury carmaker Bentley are celebrating the 17th anniversary of their partnership with the new Chronomat Bentley watch. This bold mechanical statement piece should appeal to anyone who appreciates the finer things in life.

The Chronomat is inspired by a Breitling watch that was released in 1983 in collaboration with the famed Italian aerial squadron Frecce Tricolori. Breitling is also bringing back the mechanical movement, which has mostly been absent due to the rise of quartz movement. The watchmaker says this new piece is an expression of striking aesthetics and confidence that will make the mechanical chronograph “cool” again.

The Chronomat Bentley has a 42-millimetre stainless steel case with a green dial and contrasting black counters. The watch, presented on a stainless steel Rouleaux bracelet with a butterfly clasp, features a ‘BENTLEY’ engraving round the transparent sapphire caseback (which is yet to be revealed).

Each timepiece in the new collection is powered by the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, an in-house mechanical movement that delivers a power reserve of around 70 hours. The Chronomat is also water-resistant to 200 metres.

A signature rotating bezel is highlighted by rider tabs, which protects the crystal and make the bezel easier to rotate. The rider tabs at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock, are interchangeable, so the wearer can use them either for a “count up” or “count down” function. The watch is then fitted to a stainless-steel Rouleaux bracelet with a butterfly clasp.

“When much of the industry focused their efforts and energies on quartz watches, the Chronomat reminded the world that Breitling had essentially invented the modern mechanical chronograph,” said Georges Kern, CEO of Breitling. “The Chronomat Collection is a fitting tribute to the amazing watch that, more than any other, put us back in touch with our heritage.”

The Breitling Chronomat Bentley is currently available for pre-order and priced at AUD $11,350.
