The Ressence Type 1 DX3 celebrates the sixth and final year of collaboration with the luxury retailer Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons. This is a remarkably interesting piece full of abstract and mosaic patterns throughout, a direct influence of the Arabic culture that the Ressence Type 1 DX3 derives its aesthetic.
The Type 1 DX3 features a convex dial that resembles Arabic mosaic patterns with cloisonné art encased in a titanium case with a double-domed sapphire crystal. The dial itself has three bi-axial satellites at small degrees of inclination to tell the time with, indicative of the Ressence Orbital Convex System. The Ressence Type 1 DX3 is a limited edition model of only 35 pieces and has a retail cost of CHF23,600 excluding taxes.

To celebrate the piece’s first anniversary, Ferdinand Berthoud has encased the Chronomètre FB 3SPC.1-1 in a white gold case offset by a blackened movement. The Ferdinand Berthoud Chronomètre FB 3SPC.1-1 was recently awarded the prestigious “Chronometry prize” at the GPHG early this year, with its unique variable-inertia balance and cylindrical balance spring (both certified by COSC).
The Ferdinand Berthoud Chronomètre FB 3SPC.1-1 goes beyond what you would expect from a watch. It’s a beautiful marriage of chronometry performance, technical expertise, meticulous finishing and an air for the absurd. As a watchmaker, Ferdinand Berthoud produces some of the most interesting watches, and the Chronomètre FB 3SPC.1-1 is one of the maison’s best examples.

Tissot has unveiled a handful of new models in the Le Locle collection to celebrate the model’s 20th anniversary. Paying tribute to the brand’s roots and enduring legacy, the Le Locle collection embodies the timeless tenets of classical watchmaking. Simple, well-balanced, beautifully proportioned and soundly finished.
The new models released include the Tissot Le Locle Powermatic 80 (pictured above), which comes with a matching stainless steel bracelet or a leather strap, as well as the Le Locle Automatic Lady which comes on either stainless steel bracelet or a leather strap. Both models.

New from Arnold & Son is the Time Pyramid 42.5 Platinum. As the name reveals, the Arnold & Son Time Time Pyramid 42.5 Platinum is encased in platinum and features a semi-openworked dial that partly shows the working of the Calibre A&S1615. There is a beautiful balance of the Arnold & Son Time Pyramid 42.5 Platinum that is a play on the visual senses.
Arnold & Son has opted for a vertical alignment with the Time Pyramid, and in all of its variations, it carries the same distinguishable layout throughout. The Time Pyramid is actually inspired by a clock that was popular during the 1830s. The Arnold & Son Time Pyramid 42.5 Platinum’s aesthetic isn’t going to appeal to everyone due to its very atypical look, but it looks the goods in my opinion.
Hublot Launches Complimentary Service
Avant-garde favourite Hublot has launched a new experience at its Australian flagship boutique, offering a complimentary first service on specific models. From Wednesday 22 November, customers who purchase a timepiece with a Unico, Meca-10, or EP-400 movement will be able to have their first service completed free of charge. Hublot recommends servicing every three to five years, so the brand has made the offer valid for the first five years after purchase.
All servicing will be performed by one of just three Hublot watchmakers in ANZ and will see the piece carefully disassembled, examined, refurbished, polished and tested before being returned. The offer is available exclusively through the Hublot Sydney boutique.
