Independent watchmaker, H. Moser & Cie has released a second version of the esteemed Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton in collaboration with the Formula 1 team, BWT. Unveiled in the same coloured livery as the F1 team, the H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine Limited Edition has a very sporty yet complicated aesthetic that pays tribute to the maison’s exemplary watchmaking heritage.

H. Moser & Cie’s Streamliner platform is elevated by the extensive openworking found throughout, which is built upon by the integration of the BWT Formula 1 team’s bold livery. The depth of the cylindrical tourbillon matches the voluminous nature of the Streamliner case, and again this is made that much more special with the use of BWT’s pink colourway. A highly modern, highly technical and equally avant-garde timepiece, this new releases leaves one with the afterthought of ‘What’s next’ from the independent Maison.

Tissot PRX Automatic Chronograph Green Dial

  • Brand: Tissot
  • Model: PRX Automatic Chronograph
  • Reference: Ref. T137.427.11.091.00
  • Diameter: 42mm
  • Power Reserve: 68 hours

  • Price: AUD$3,050

Tissot quietly unveiled a handful of new green-coloured dials. The time-only model received a light green waffle patterned dial available in either a 35mm or a 42mm guise, while the chronograph is now available with a deeper green dial with a gradient finish from lighter in the centre to darker as you edge towards the rehaut. The dark green with the chronograph is particularly beautiful, with the brighter almost aqua-green dial of the time-only model is rather unique and equally as nice to look at.

The PRX will inevitably continue to be updated and upgraded over the course of its product life, but in its latest version, I struggle to compare it to anything else out there, comparatively speaking, of course. There is a certain harmony between steel and green that really just works — almost effortlessly. The patterned dial paired with the uniform brushing on the case and bracelet makes for a very tactile experience, especially so when you consider the polished bezel and chronograph pushers. Not much else to be said aside from, yes.

From Cimier is the new limited edition 711 Heritage Chronograph. Inspired by one of the brand’s most iconic watches, the 711 Heritage Chronograph is a more complex variation on the original which only allowed users to measure short time intervals by starting and stopping the independent central second hand. The modern version includes all the functions of a modern chronograph while using design elements of the past with a unique dial layout, a beautiful vintage colourway as well as a vintage case that again draws inspiration from the original model.

Fans of heritage models being reintroduced should definitely consider the almost inconspicuous nature of the 711 Heritage Chronograph. Cimier did a tremendous job in staying true to its roots, all the while integrating modern materials and horological technologies to make the 711 Heritage Chronograph as good as it is. It’s as much of a sleeper as you would want in a watch that is deep in four-figure territory without actually falling into obscurity. If you’re looking for a vintage inspired timepiece that walks the fine line between too different and seriously cool, then the 711 Heritage Chronograph should be right up your alley.
