Another week has come and gone, which means another edition of the Wind Up, our weekly round up of all the newest watch releases and news of the last seven days. In this week’s edition, we’ll be featuring a range of new watches including a new PRX model from Tissot, a panda chronograph from Glashütte Original, as well as a couple of cool new high-tech pieces from TAG Heuer. Happy reading and enjoy.
Tissot PRX 40 Powermatic 80 Forged Carbon
- Brand: Tissot

- Reference: T137.907.97.201.00
- Diameter: 40mm x 11.20 mm
- Movement: Powermatic 80
- Water-Resistance: 100 m
- Power Reserve: 80 hours
- Price: CHF965
Tissot’s latest rendition of its game-changing PRX is this new high-grade forged carbon model. We’re finding that with each iteration of the PRX comes a whackier, cooler, and more interesting design, with the forged carbon model taking the cake by far.
What we have here is a case made from a carbon composite with a matching carbon composite dial. The effect is one that looks (and presumably feels) far more expensive than its price tag entails. Inside, the latest PRX model is equipped with the calibre 11 1/2” automatic movement, which dishes up 80 hours of power reserve. The model comes on a black rubber strap, but I think on a matching carbon bracelet stylised with the same look as the traditional PRXs bracelet, that’s where this piece would really come to life. Regardless, this is a show stopper, and boy, am I tempted to whip out the credit card.
TAG Heuer’s Latest High Tech Extreme Models
TAG Heuer has been on a roll of sorts, releasing a plethora of watches over the winter season (or summer season, depending on where you live). And here is the maison again, unveiling two Extreme models in the forms of the Heuer Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport and the Tourbillon Chronograph Extreme Sport.
The Heuer Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport arrives in an assortment of case materials, with the most avant-garde of the lot boasting a combination of grade-2 titanium, ceramic, and 18K 5N rose gold. Inside the 44mm release, you’ll find TH20-00 movement which punches out an impressive 80-hour power reserve and also comes with a five-year warranty.
The Tourbillon, on the other hand, takes the level of engineering to new heights. Through a semi-open-worked dial, you can see the stunning TH20-09 tourbillon-chronograph movement. This innovation, one of TAG’s most revered, is characterised by its vertical clutch column wheel; however, it has also copped a new shield-shaped rotor for a distinctive modern touch. It offers a bidirectional automatic rewinding system and a 65-hour power reserve.
Additionally, the Tourbillon Chronograph Extreme Sport features a bezel crafted from forged carbon with grey markings to match its skeleton NAC-coated dial with black-grained details. Both timepieces come with an open caseback, giving you an unimpeded view of the stunning inner workings. From the movement’s intricate laser-engraved checkered pattern to the coloured column wheel, TAG Heuer has left no stone unturned with these unbelievably intricate new sports watches.

Well-heeled superfans will rejoice because now you can buy your very own Kansas City Chiefs’ Breitling, complete with the team’s iconic colours and emblem. I mean, how much more hardcore of a fan could you be?! Cliches aside, this is a super move by the brand and is by far one of the most extensive and expansive collaborations done by any watchmaker. It is important to note, however, that only 104 examples of each of the 32 models will be made. So if you’re even thinking about the idea of wearing your favourite NFL’s teams colours not only on your back but on your wrist, you would be best to move rather quickly. Set hut!
OMEGA Launches New Constellation Collection
- Brand: OMEGA
- Model: Constellation
- Diameter: 25mm / 28mm / 29mm
- Movement: Quartz / Xo-Axial Master Chronometer
- Price: From AUD$18,925
Seminal Swiss watchmaker OMEGA has this week unveiled a range of new Constellation models that blur the lines between horology and jewellery. OMEGA has gone big with this collection, dropping 20 different colour combinations and choices. As the brand explains, each new timepiece is distinguished by the swirling pattern of its dial. The central section, which unfurls from the emblematic Constellation star that sits at 6 o’clock, is a continuation of OMEGA’s classic spiralling motif which was first introduced in 2008.
The collection arrives in three sizes, with the new Constellation pieces offered in 29mm, 28mm, and 25mm, with versions in classic steel, full 18K Moonshine or 18K Sedna Gold, or a mix of both steel and gold. Importantly, only the 29mm models receive a full automatic movement, powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre. The 28mm and 25mm models retain the classic quartz movement, and feature a Constellation Observatory medallion stamped on the metallic caseback.
