While Chris Stapleton may be famous for singing, “You’re as smooth as Tennessee whiskey,” the country music superstar knows his native Kentucky is really where it’s at. To honour his home state’s heritage of whiskey-making mastery, the 11x Grammy Award-winner teamed up with Kentucky’s own Buffalo Trace Distillery—the world’s most award-winning distillery—to create Traveller Whiskey, a first-of-its-kind collaboration for the acclaimed spirit maker that’s “easy to drink, hard not to love”.
Now, Australian whiskey fans can try this landmark release for themselves with Stapleton’s signature dram finally making its way across the Pacific. What’s more, all are invited to take part in a celebration of Traveller Whiskey’s highly anticipated arrival via an unmissable month-long pop-up event set to be hosted at Jolene’s, Sydney’s premier country music destination.

Jolene, I’m Begging of You….
Running from Thursday, 27th Feb to Thursday, 27th March, the pop-up will not only offer visitors a free Traveller Whiskey shout every night at 8 PM, but a host of other must-try treats as well. These include a trio of Traveller-based cocktails—Parachute, Traveller Old Fashioned, East Kentucky Sweet Tea—and delicious Traveller tater tots, topped with smoked brisket, liquid cheese, and Traveller Whiskey-infused BBQ sauce.
We can’t imagine a better bite to enjoy alongside Traveller Whiskey’s incredible aromas and flavours. Starting with a nose of vanilla, aged fruit, and buttery shortbread rounded off by caramel and a touch of oak, which is followed by a palate boasting a touch of sweetness, spice, toasted nut, and oak flavours, all leading towards a robust finish, every sip is a remarkable experience.

A Long Journey…
Such a sophisticated Kentucky whiskey doesn’t come about by accident, with Stapleton and Buffalo Trace Distillery’s master distiller, Harlen Wheatley, calling on their shared artistry to conjure a whiskey that’s undeniably easy drinking and supremely delicious. In their efforts to create the finest dram possible, the pair spent countless hours testing and tasting — gruelling work, but we guess someone has to do it. This process saw them sample over 50 blends before landing on Blend No. 40 as the chosen combination. The result of all this hard labour? A premium American whiskey that speaks for itself.

To experience everything Traveller Whiskey has to offer over the course of a month of tastings, cocktails, and tater tots that you really won’t want to miss, make your way to Jolene’s at 73 York St from Thursday, 27th Feb to Thursday 27th March. You’re guaranteed a night of outstanding whiskey and incredible country music you won’t soon forget.
