Handmade Ties from OTAA

Scott Purcell – Co-Founder

It’s fairly rare that people don ties nowadays for work, but when you do, it’s usually in celebration of a special occasion. So why not throw some flair into the mix with these ties from OTAA that are anything but boring? Led by two brothers from Australia, the site will leave you in stitches with over 9,000 designs ranging from classic to quirky for every taste. Perfect for the races if you’re looking to stand out or something a little more classy for a wedding. If that doesn’t convince you, maybe OTAA’s over 12,000 five-star reviews will.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650

Harry Parsons – Branded Content Manager

As much as I love the sleek designs of the modern motorcycle, it’s hard to go past an absolutely classic design. Royal Enfield’s new Super Meteor 650 continues the heritage of building quintessential cruisers that embody the retro heritage from which they were born. While the 650’s looks are heralded from the past, its hardware is certainly not. Centred around the acclaimed 648cc twin platform that, since 2018, has enjoyed worldwide recognition within the multi-award-winning motorcycles, Interceptor INT 650 and Continental GT 650. Bringing it further into the future, the Super Meteor 650 features an in-built trip navigator, removing the need for a distracting phone mount. This is a bike that’s perfectly suited for the Australian lifestyle, whether you’re revving through busy city streets or cruising along the coastline, I have no doubt in my mind that you will be beaming from ear to ear.

UNIQLO Heattech Crew Long-Sleeve

Nick Hall – Editor-in-Chief

The cooler months have definitely settled in for the year and my little (slightly sinking) terrace house isn’t doing much to keep me warm. This week, I was lucky enough to cop some Heattech Long-Sleeve shirts from the legends over at UNIQLO and they have been a godsend. The ultra-lightweight undershirts have a 100% SUPIMA cotton lining, meaning they are extremely comfortable. Best of all, they are seriously figure-hugging, so if I don’t wear anything over the top, you can see what I had for lunch! Just kidding, these shirts are awesome for staying warm.

Star Wars x Fossil Collection

John Guanzon – Head of Social

They say you can spot a true Star Wars fan anywhere because they’re often dripping in merch and memorabilia. If you’re a Star Wars fan or have one in your life you need to buy a gift for, you’ll love this one. Fossil has collaborated with Star Wars to drop a whole collection of exciting, watches, jewellery and leather goods to celebrate May the 4th a couple of months ago. The collection features six limited-edition timepieces, meticulously designed to celebrate the film’s most beloved characters. As well as the watches Fossil has also dropped a Star Wars jewellery collection, with bracelets, necklace charms and a stormtrooper wallet.

The brand recently sent me a couple of the watches to feature in an unboxing video, and they’re actually quite remarkable. The attention to detail and craftsmanship in this collaboration is truly exceptional. Each timepiece is a limited edition and comes packaged in a collector’s box that immerses you in the Star Wars universe with cinematic sound effects, comic-book-style illustrations, and even a replica movie ticket pin.

The old clare hotel clare suite

The Old Clare Hotel – Clare Suite

Rob Edwards – Branded Content Writer

I recently had the good fortune of spending an evening in one of Sydney’s premier boutique stays, The Old Clare Hotel, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Conveniently located by Central Station, this escape provides the perfect spot from which to launch a night out in Sydney, while the welcoming bars on the hotel’s roof and at street level mean you don’t have to travel far to find a stylish place to sip cocktails. What’s more, as you do so, the immaculate Art Deco aesthetic that runs throughout the hotel will have you feeling like a Prohibition-era lawbreaker (in the best possible way).

Taking up residence in one of the hotel’s luxurious Clare Suites, I was impressed by the room’s generous open-plan layout and gorgeous high ceilings, while retro details juxtaposed superbly with all the mod-cons you’d expect from a premium stay of this kind. The food’s undeniable, too; I’ve had a number of meals at The Old Clare over the years and it’s never let me down. Breakfast continued this trend, nailing classics like eggs and waffles—these are often mishandled elsewhere—and delivering the goods on the coffee and tea front as well.

I sincerely hope to visit The Old Clare again before too long. Whether you’re visiting Sydney for a spell or just looking for a quality stay-cation, you’ll find it’s a charm in every way.

Something Very Special ‘PYE Poster’ Hoodie

Ben McKimm – Journalist

While plenty of fashion brands pop into my inbox looking for coverage, the brands that get my attention hit on three important factors; high-quality fabrics, good design, and fair price. The first thing I look for is material composition and GSM count and the Something Very Special ‘PYE Poster’ hoodie delivers 400GSM half-brushed 100 per cent organic cotton fleece. In simple terms, it’s very high quality. The Byron Bay-designed brand has been serving street resort goods since December 2021 and although this is my first piece, it likely won’t be my last. Get these folks on your radar.

Plendi Mud Mask

Richie Hall – Video Producer

Aussie skincare brand, Plendi, has recently launched its Outback Mud Mask. It features an all-star line-up of Aussie natives such as Kakadu Plum, Kangaroo Paw Extract, Tea Tree, Australian Sandalwood Essential Oil and Macadamia Oil. As someone with sensitive skin, particularly in winter, I found this mask, which is hypoallergenic and dermatologist approved, very gentle. I felt it reduced redness and left my skin feeling smoother and brighter. It’s also housed in 100 per cent recyclable packaging. A winner all round!

Fabulous Moi Daily Super Shot

This week, I’ve been dealing with a serious case of man flu that has completely knocked me down. Getting out of bed has been a struggle, but towards the end of the week, I managed to gather enough strength to get back behind my laptop. And just when I needed it the most, the team at Fabulous Moi came through and sent me a box of their Daily Super Shots, acting like a little wellness guardian angel.

Without hesitation, I downed them as if they were Friday night fireball shots, although I didn’t have high expectations. However, to my surprise, I started feeling better and regained some level of productivity. The Fabulous MOI daily shots have some incredible ingredients that promote collagen formation, enhance brain and gut health, boost energy, fortify immunity, and provide essential vitamins and minerals. But honestly, what matters most is that they made me feel better and more alert, filled with newfound energy.

I’m eagerly waiting to recover from this sickness and give these shots another try. I want to see how they make me feel when I’m back to my normal self. So, if you’re searching for a healthy energy boost without relying on excessive caffeine or if you need a pick-me-up during this flu season, I highly recommend giving Fabulous Moi’s daily shots a try.
