The Geneva Motorshow is nothing if not a literal and figurative race for dominance among luxury sports cars, and naturally the legendary brand Porsche brought its A game in 2017. Making its grand debut was the new 2018 Porsche 911 GT3, a fast and furious jaw-dropper that exudes pure visual splendour, goes 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds, reaches speeds of 197 mph and includes six-speed manual transmission. In other words, you want one–but you knew that already.
Under the sexy skin of the GT3 is a naturally aspirated 4.0 litre flat-six engine that delivers 500 hp and 339 lb.-ft. of torque. Producing only the utmost dynamism and control is a lightweight chassis complete with Rear Axle Steering. Rounding out the aerodynamic theme are exhaust air openings, a carbon fibre rear wing, a new diffuser and then a front fascia and spoiler to optimise airflow.
Inside is a GT Sport steering wheel with a 14.1 inch diameter–the same type that can be found in the renowned 918 Spyder. The weight-saving seats (aka Sports Seats Plus) deliver the finest bolsters and seamless electric adjustment so your support doesn’t fail you when it counts the most. Also available are two other seat options: the Adaptive Sports Seats Plus with additional adjustment features, a power steering column and seat memory, and then Full Bucket Seats with a carbon fibre backrest. All in all, it’s the newest from Porsche and another reason to go to Geneva every year. Sure it’s automobile porn, but only for those who can’t afford one.
