Rapha x Canyon’s Special-Edition Disc Brake Ultimate is a ‘Supercar’ on 2 Wheels

The members-only cycling brand Rapha is pairing up with Canyon for the second time for another limited edition bike. The first collaboration happened three years ago, but this new offering is well worth the wait.

The two brands are billing the new bike as “the cycling equivalent of a supercar,” and it’s not hard to see how this bike lives up to the hype. The RCC X Canyon Ultimate CF SL 8 DISC offers a low weight with supreme stiffness, which in biking world translates into better performance. The lower weight comes courtesy of the carbon fibre frame, which delivers maximum velocity and enjoyable comfort.

The design of the bike was all about aerodynamic efficiency and comfort, so it’s a ride that professionals and lay members will appreciate. The bike is outfitted with SRAM’s Force AXS groupset—a fully wireless set that has intuitive shifting. A power meter monitors performance down to the millisecond. Stopping comes from the SRAM Force HRD brakes and the bike boasts a DT Swiss ARC1400 wheelset with a 50mm profile and wrapped in Continental Grand Prix 500 25mm tires. The seat is a Selle Italia SLR Boost Superflow S manganese saddle.

The collaboration really comes into play when you consider the design. “It was a case of looking at the bike as a whole and working with the lines Canyon have designed; bringing out the craftsmanship and engineering that have created such ground-breaking technology,” said the designers over at Rapha in regard to creating the graphic scheme of the bike.

The bike is painted a glossy black with silver lettering. The racing stripes are done in a bright pink that absolutely pops against the black. Only 250 examples of the club bike have been made. Club members can get the bike directly from the Rapha website for £5,149.
