The Empire State of Mind, performed by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, is a popular tribute to their city. Embraer has decided to pay tribute to Manhattan in another way—with a jet that is the epitome of glamour and elegance. This jet—named the Manhattan—is an aircraft that would be fit for Jay-Z himself.
The 1020s style jet was inspired by the S.S. Normandie, which was a French ocean liner that was the definition of luxury. With its Art Deco style, The Manhattan looks like something out of the The Great Gatsby.
The Manhattan was designed by Embraer’s vice president of interior design, Jay Beever, with the help of Eddie Sotto, a talented former Disney Imagineer. The plane features brass and gold accents and rich mahogany wood panels. A metallic entry mural pays tribute to the artwork in the lobby of the Empire State Building. Other features of this custom jet include a bar and lounge that are modelled after the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building.
These charter planes feature seats that are covered with lambskin leather and mohair. The plane is divided into five different zones. The first three areas form a large gathering space that is perfect for entertaining. The saloon was made for more intimate conversation while the Crystal Room is an exclusive dining area.
Panoramic city loft windows provide beautiful views of the cityscapes below. No matter where you are flying, you will have incredible views.
In addition to the luxurious interior, this 19-person jet features the latest in-flight technology. An optional master suite includes a bed and two-person shower.
