We’re not sure about you, but we find it quite strange that Audi would announce a fifth-generation A6 allroad before the super saloon RS 6 has broken cover. Here with the new allroad, we’ve been teased with an 84mm wider body and two electrified powertrain options. The new model pairs standard adaptive air suspension and all-wheel steering with a choice between a 220 kW V6 diesel and a new 270 kW plug-in hybrid system. Both feature standard quattro all-wheel drive.
The new 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged diesel incorporates a belt alternator starter and an electrically powered compressor to build immediate boost, while the e-hybrid model utilises a 25.9 kWh battery pack. “This new generation takes that formula further, with a more striking, purposeful design, an exceptional level of standard equipment, and a sophisticated chassis that makes the A6 allroad equally suited to everyday driving and longer journeys across Australia,” said Peter Strudwicke, Audi Australia Product Manager for the A6 allroad.
Local buyers will see the new wagon arrive in showrooms during the first half of next year. It arrives as the brand continues expanding its electrified portfolio following the recent launch of the Q6 e-tron family and the flagship Audi SQ9.

Adaptive Air Suspension and Widened Chassis Geometry
The new A6 allroad features an 84 mm wider body compared to its predecessor. Engineers integrated standard adaptive air suspension across the range, providing 55 millimetres of total ride height adjustment.
Dynamic mode lowers the wagon by 20 millimetres for improved aerodynamic stability at high speeds.
Offroad and offroad+ modes raise the chassis by 15 millimetres, while a dedicated lift function adds 35 millimetres of clearance at speeds up to 35 km/h (21 mph).
Lastly, all-wheel steering reduces the turning circle to 11.4 metres by turning the rear wheels up to five degrees in the opposite direction to the front wheels at low speeds.

Electrified Powertrains and Compressor Hardware
Buyers can choose between two distinct electrified drivetrains, both mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The A6 allroad e-hybrid pairs a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor to generate 362 hp (270 kW) and 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque. This draws from a 25.9 kWh high-voltage battery to deliver up to 87 kilometres (54 miles) of pure-electric driving range. This plug-in architecture boasts a combined WLTP fuel consumption figure as low as 2.6 litres/100km and CO2 emissions of 55-67g/km.
The alternative TDI quattro features a 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged diesel engine producing 295 hp (220 kW) and 580 Nm (427 lb-ft) of torque.
This diesel unit uses a belt alternator starter and an electrically powered compressor to build immediate boost pressure at low engine speeds, delivering a combined fuel consumption of 5.8-6.4 litres/100km and CO2 emissions of 153-167g/km. Both variants utilise standard quattro all-wheel drive.
1/5Interior and Technology
Inside the cabin, the A6 allroad adopts a curved OLED digital stage featuring an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit and a 14.5-inch central touch display. There’s a separate 10.9-inch screen in front of the passenger for independent entertainment.
For cargo, the e-hybrid accommodates up to 404 litres, expanding to 1,423 litres with the rear seats folded down. The V6 TDI model offers slightly more utility, providing 466 litres of boot space that expands to a maximum of 1,497 litres.
Standard equipment includes a panoramic glass roof with switchable transparency and a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.

Price and Australian Market Delivery
The new Audi A6 allroad e-hybrid starts at AUD$127,900, while the V6 TDI variant is priced from AUD$137,900.
Deliveries for the Australian market are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027.
