Lamborghini has officially confirmed the Revuelto SV, bringing the track-focused Super Veloce badge to its flagship V12 hybrid. While its world premiere is scheduled for the 14th of August at The Quail in California, a barely camouflaged prototype set a 1:41.6 lap record at the Hockenheimring in Germany. Driven by factory test driver Marco Mapelli, the run establishes what Sant’Agata Bolognese claims as the fastest lap ever recorded by a production super sports car at the circuit.

The 1:41.6 benchmark highlights a significant performance leap over the previous-generation V12 flagship, beating the Aventador SVJ by 5.7 seconds on the same Grand Prix layout. While the standard Revuelto pairs a mid-mounted 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 with three electric motors to generate 1,001 hp, the SV variant introduces fixed high-downforce aerodynamics, weight reduction, and chassis revisions engineered for the track.

Unveiled ahead of Monterey Car Week 2026, the Revuelto SV will lead a series of major debuts for the Italian automaker. The track-focused flagship will be displayed at The Quail alongside the North American debut of the Urus SE Performante and the global presentation of the Revuelto Miura 60° Homage, celebrating 55 years of the original Miura SV. For now, let’s take a closer look at the SV.

Revuelto SV Sets 1:41.6 Production Record at Hockenheimring

Automobili Lamborghini selected Germany’s historic Hockenheimring Grand Prix circuit to establish an official performance reference for the Revuelto SV. The layout combines high-speed straights, heavy braking zones, and hairpin turns that test mechanical grip, aerodynamic balance, and thermal management under sustained track loads.

Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, explained the developmental philosophy behind the new model:

“The new Revuelto SV represents an extraordinary expression of our vision for a Lamborghini super sports car. Every element of the car has been developed with the goal of taking performance to an even higher level, enhancing the driving engagement and emotion that have always defined our brand. The record achieved at the Hockenheimring is the result of this approach and demonstrates how innovation, technology and engineering expertise can be translated into tangible, measurable results.”

Following his record run at the circuit, factory driver and test driver Marco Mapelli detailed how the chassis calibration and hybrid powertrain respond at the physical limit: “The Revuelto SV has reached a level of performance we had never experienced before at Lamborghini. The extraordinary harmony between car and driver allows you to exploit its full potential, inspiring precision and confidence even at the limit. It is exactly this combination of performance, control and driver engagement that enabled us to achieve this result.”

Placing the SV variant’s 1:41.6 lap time alongside established circuit records illustrates its positioning:

• vs. Aventador SVJ: Mapelli’s 1:41.6 in the Revuelto SV is 5.7 seconds faster than the 1:47.3 benchmark set by the Aventador SVJ on the same GP layout.
• vs. Mercedes-AMG ONE: The Formula 1-derived Mercedes-AMG ONE recorded a 1:38.563 at Hockenheim. Lamborghini noted that its claim applies specifically to the Revuelto SV as a series-production super sports car, distinguishing it from ultra-low-volume hypercars with different technical concepts and pricing.
• vs. Ferrari 296 GT3: Dedicated GT3 race cars running slick racing tires navigate the Hockenheimring GP circuit in approximately 1:37.3, showing how close the road-legal SV gets to full motorsport pace.

Aerodynamic Modifications

While Automobili Lamborghini has withheld detailed technical specifications until the official unveiling, official camouflage images and historical Super Veloce development patterns reveal clear hardware changes over the standard road car, particularly around the aerodynamics.

Up front, enlarged air intakes and an extended lower splitter should increase front-axle grip, while along the flanks, pronounced side sills channel underbody air, and new cooling vents across the rear deck lid help extract engine bay heat. The most noticeable transformation takes place at the rear, where a large fixed wing mounted on swan-neck strakes replaces the standard active spoiler, working alongside deeper vertical diffuser fins built into the lower bumper to ground the car at high speeds.

Powertrain Expectations

Powertrain wise, the standard Revuelto produces 1,001 hp from its 6.5-litre V12 and triple electric motor setup. Lamborghini previously demonstrated extra capacity within this powertrain on the limited-run Fenomeno, which produced 1,065 hp. We expect the Revuelto SV to match or exceed that 1,065 hp figure alongside stiffer spring rates, recalibrated adaptive dampers, and track-oriented tires.

Much like how the limited-run Lamborghini Huracán STJ marked the final evolution of the V10 chassis, the Revuelto SV will establish the performance peak for Sant’Agata’s V12 hybrid lineup for now. This arrives alongside the launch of the 907HP twin-turbo V8 hybrid Lamborghini Temerario and the plug-in hybrid 789HP Lamborghini Urus SE PHEV, reinforcing the brand’s complete transition to hybrid powertrains.

Monterey Car Week Lineup and Miura Heritage

The new SV model leads a broader display highlighting both future hybrid technology and historical lineage. Lamborghini’s Monterey display includes:

• Urus SE Performante: North American debut of the track-focused PHEV SUV.
• Revuelto Miura 60° Homage: Global presentation of a bespoke Ad Personam build.

The brand has confirmed that the Revuelto SV is currently in the pre-production type approval stage and is not yet offered for commercial sale. Public viewing opportunities begin in California during Monterey Car Week:

Industry estimates place the SV variant above USD$750,000 before options. Order books are expected to open following the August 14 reveal, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in early 2027.
